Re: Cruise control with brake function

It’s still pretty good. Our E91 has std cruise without braking and it’s a pain when going downhill and it speeds up, particularly on the motorway in those damn average speed zones. In my 240 I like that it keeps the set speed up or downhill. My E91 used to maintain speed when CC and going downhill,...

Re: Do not get the dealer to wash your car!!! They damaged it (BMW Cooper Teesside)

Sh*t happens, people make mistakes all the time. I did exactly what's happened to you on our E91 when we'd only had it a few months, was washing it with the hose and the hose slipped out of my hand and the end went straight down one of the panels and left a nice scratch!! At least they have offered ...

Re: speccing up a new M140i shad

how often does somebody else drive it? electric seats are only good if always swapping drivers. I disagree, there is only me that drives mine but I wouldn't be without them. The unlimited adjustments over manual are a godsend, and the memory function is perfect for when it's in for service and the ...

Re: New to BMWs - Have i bought a shed?

As above, ignore all the electrical stuff for now and focus on the oil/engine issues and ABS sensor.

Where are you based? A few of us use BMW indies so might be able to point you to one of those.

Re: BMW recall

I got two letters yesterday, one for my E91 and the other for my old E81 that I PX'd to BMW 2 years ago!! I discarded the old E81 letter and then read the E91 letter expecting it to say phone for an appointment, but as THETYRANT says, it just goes on about waiting for another letter! :D

It's just designed to be that way, to make it feel more sporty when pushing on, nothing to worry about.

The ZF is a great box.

Re: Are these cars reliable at high mileges?

If you start researching any make/model of car you will find horror stories and forums like this don't really help matters as you tend to find doom and gloom merchants warning you off every car that exists. I've had our E91 from 1500 miles/6 months old and it's now done 83k miles without any issue s...

Re: another attempted theft

How I see it is you should do whatever you can to secure your home. I have sash jammers, pro secure door handles with anti snap locks, viper locks, a monitored alarm, my car is blocked in on drive by wife's car and I use a disklock. Now if someone is determined enough to get past all that my car ke...

Re: Coding - costs?

Depending on what you want, I think the only benefit is the "insurance" you get that if they stuff up your ECU they will have to get it fixed. But that assumes you have a proper contract with them and that they are insured for such losses. If you are in anyway handy with apps/IT etc then the Bimmerc...

Re: Holding Right Paddle is Not Switching to Auto

My 2016 reverts to auto when you hold the right paddle, but only in normal D mode, it can’t be done in Sports Auto mode. It will go back into D automatically when you use the paddles in normal auto and then leave it for a while, the delay depends how hard you’ve been driving and which drive mode yo...
