Re: Discs - any thoughts on these

Do you really want drilled and grooved? They'll be noisy, and eat your pads. Get them hot and the holes will probably crack outwards too!

Re: Can anyone help me find some alloys please....

Fronts: 8J or 8.5J at ET40, fitted with 245/35/18

Rears 9J ET44+, fitted with 255/35/18

. or , 9J ET50+ fitted with 265/35/18
. or 9.5J ET55+ fitted with 265/35/18. I don't think this wheel size is very common though?

Re: Can anyone help me find some alloys please....

9.5"J is very wide for the back of a 1er, I think you'll have to adjust your expectations a little.

Sooty's rears were 9J ET50 and only just fitted, 9.5J and ET45 isn't going to fit nicely, imo. Over 26mm wider than standard!

It will suddenly feel like it's lost 30% of it's boost for no good reason.

Does it get lots of long motorway runs with a full tank of diseasil?

Re: Slipping revs when accelerating!

At 1:43 and 1:48 approx, you can see the engine scream upwards (loads of power/torque) because the clutch slips. Engine looks nice and healthy, definitely doesn't lose power or bog down. No flat spot. Peak torque is around 2,500 on yours. I can't tell what gear you're in at that point, but clutch sl...

Re: No more car creep?

All you're trying to do is clean the rear drums out, no idea why you'd want to be coasting?

Drive along slowly, and gently dab the handbrake on repeatedly to remove any corrosion and free up the mechanism.

Try: https://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ . Some centres are cheaper than others, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Double check they're very familiar with BMW's before turning up though (worth ringing around), they're a sod to set correctly and it takes a talented operator.

Sounds like a clogged DPF to me.

I'd crack yours open and see if you can repair it first. Repaired ones are usually better than new, believe it or not.

Re: Serpentine belt, snapped 'cog'?

The wee notch in the center of the grooves isn't a big issue in itself, as long as it's not burred/rough.

If the rubber inside the cog has let go, just buy a complete new one. They get lots of torque, glue won't last 1 rev.
