Just done this myself, fitting a pair of FL lights I bought from johnpigg here.

The instructions are spot-on!

It's worth noting that if your car has a factory fit CD changer in the boot you will access your nearside light through this little hatch behind the CD changer cover:

PR130... I can't judge from these pics, but does the car actually look better - or the new lights just give it a fresher look?
120i - Not much, but more than enough. :)

'Better' is a very subjective term! I think it looks both better and fresher though.

Lots of rewiring back to the footwell module will be needed. Unless you want to try and hack it in using a feed from the numberplate lights or something.
Coding and Alpine fitting - PM me :)

Does this change of light unit improve the function of the reversing lights at all?

The function if the reversing lights is to indicate to other motorists that you are reversing - the facelift lights do this just fine. If you are looking for reversing lights which light up the area behind you then no - these do not help with this at all.

As this question asks... I have an '05 pre facelift WITH factory Xenons... Can I fit LED F/L rear lights or just the standard ones only, and if so, is the guide here the same for my car?

Thanks
Dave

your prefacelift with xenons can use the LED F/L with the BMW retrofit kit (check realoem.com for the partnumber). or you can follow the above HOWTO to install the F/L lights and use this DIY to turn on the LEDs: (http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?t=20558) but you will have to code the halogen sidelights off.

I appear to be missing the facelift bulb holders with mine. Did all yours come with this or did you source them?

They come complete with bulbholders when you buy them new. When I get my Darklines I will send you the holders down.
