Re: Winters or cross climate?

I'd the running them Nov to March on my my steel wheels. Standard super sports at other times :) there's always feedback that full winters aren't great on warmer winter days - we can't be swapping over weekly.... One of the biggest advantages of running winters in winter for me (down here in deepes...

Re: Might sell my 2016 - M135i

I can only think that a 3 door man won’t appeal to as many buyers so the value is therefore lower Rubbish! The one series size is more appropriate to being a 3 door than a 5 door. You sit in the 3 door and it's spacious. You open the door and it's frame less, with loads of room to get in and out. Y...

Re: Winters or cross climate?

If you are able to runs two sets of wheels/tyres then decent winters for the winter would be (and is) my choice.

Re: Are these cars reliable at high mileges?

Mine has been very reliable but probably not the drivetrain you are considering, so here's a list of faults/failures I've had on components that are found across the range: DSC unit - approx 80k miles Xenon headlight controller - approx 90k miles Seized brake calipers - 1st rear at approx 120k, fron...

Re: URGENT ASAP - 130i Rear Brake Caliper

Had the rumbling noise at anything over 60mph on a run down a dual carriageway so knew what to expect when I stopped - sure enough, a sizzling hot disc and lots of brake dust. Also, is the caliper easy to separate from the brake line? My brake hose to chassis hard pipe connection would not come undo...

Re: URGENT ASAP - 130i Rear Brake Caliper

Did my rear passenger caliper last weekend. Easy DIY and no need to worry about handbrake, as Marco says it’s cable operated, acting on separate shoes ‘inside’ disc hub.

Got my caliper from Brakeparts.co.uk for £84 including next day before 1pm delivery. Perfect fit.

Re: What Did You Do To Your 1 Series Today?

Replaced rear left brake caliper - old one binding badly. That’s all of them done in the past 18 months. My advice - do them all when the first one goes if you can, saves hassle and paying a premium for parts when you’re in a fix. Good service (next day delivery) and price from brakeparts.co.uk Web...

Re: Michelin PSS or PS4

Far from being "junk touring" the PS3 was a decent tyre in its day, I ran them on my 156GTA and 182 Trophy. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Michelin-Launch-the-Michelin-Pilot-Sport-3.htm http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-3-PS3.htm Agree the PSS is a different animal though.

Re: Early M2 prices in a few months.

You would be crazy to buy a used one. The current deals put you in a new one for around £400 a month according to a few on m3 cutters. But you wouldnt be paying for the depreciation as its mostly done, and youd have a £2*K asset you could sell if it all went wrong. Id rather pay £25K for one I own ...

Said it before, and I still reckon low £30k’s before end of year for an early M2 with average miles.

Re: How To Change Your Diff Oil

Did the 130i diff recently, also managed to get 900ml of oil out. The oil had done about 80k miles and was still a nice golden syrup colour - as expected it was much cleaner than what came out after the first 70k miles.

Typical Daily Fail reporting surprised they didn't mention how much his house was worth
Possibly less than the car in that area!
