Re: A car for the 'rents

That's a pretty big ask! I'd suggest you keep an eye on this forum (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=255&t=1663457) and maybe ask there - plenty of people posting deals daily :) They could buy this magnificent beast for £99 deposit and £99 per month if they so desired, I suppose: h...

I'll tell him to check the voltage across the battery on a cold morning before giving it chance to run and charge up.
I had a similar issue on my e87, pretty sure it was down to my battery too. Or a poor connection across the battery terminal - can't exactly remember now! :D

Getting tired of being stopped by the police?

You'd be as well emblazoning a "drug dealer" vinyl across the boot. Shame, cause it's a cracking car!

Re: A4 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro. Now with facelift retrofit.

Yeah that's the problem with the Audi line up; it's either 3.0V6 Diesel or S4....and the S4 is still crazy expensive even for a pre-facelift. The 2 litre TFSI is a no deal for a car this size. I don't mind it anyway. Power is really smooth and linear, does great with a remap. Feels like factory del...

Re: A4 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro. Now with facelift retrofit.

nice, is it the diesel? All road would be great, i'm forever ripping my undertray off!! Can you adjust height from within the cabin? In fact I did it on the way to P Torque! Driving through a very shallow ford! The guys at P Torque had to cable tie it back together!!!   Aye it's the...

Re: A4 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro. Now with facelift retrofit.

Placed an order for the new version of this car last week - well, nearly. It's the A4 Allroad Sport 3.0 V6 Quattro. Golf R will disappear next April, this will be the replacement! Not quite in the same league as far as performance goes, but with family/children duties on the horizon, it makes sense....

Re: Celtic Tuning? Genuine claims?

Would any one go to an unknown medical specialist if he had wild claims?? Go to a well know tuner that knows the engine and has a good reputation and then walk away with good reliable results Yep. For reference, I had my pre-fl 118d remapped from 122bhp to 158bhp at Ecotune, ran it for at least 20k...

Re: Celtic Tuning? Genuine claims?

I've been looking for a remap on a 118d and so far Celtic Tuning seem to be offering the highest HP figures, 200hp out the 143hp stock engine. All other tuners seem to be around 180-185hp...Are they just a step behind? http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/en/component/ctvc/bmw/1-series-e8x-2004-2011/diese...

Re: Best way to access xenon ballasts on an E81??

Wheel off and pull back the liner. You'd only need to take the bumper off if you were removing the headlights themselves. There's like 6 screws on the ballast and it's attached to the xenons with a short cable, so careful when you're removing it - it won't pull back very far!

Re: Ecotune remap and DPF Removal 118d (143)

Would happily recommend Ecotune - had them do my previous 118d. No black soot, no problems. All done on a rolling road and custom to my car. I'd leave the DPF as it is, just clean out your EGR and blast it now and again - nothing to worry about. :)

^ Depends on the map obviously.
Correct. My Ecotune map threw out barely any soot.
