It won't affect your warranty. Coding is just enabling configuration options.

Chris
I think if you fish up your ECU and BMW know you've been coding it they may wriggle out of a warranty claim. That said I've not heard of issues and you do have the backup function on bimmercode.

Re: Carly app on 2012 120d M Sport... Advice needed

Anyone thinking of the carly app take a look at bimmercode. It's cheaper and has a pro section for coding idrive. I've done enhanced Bluetooth (which carly can't do and charges you extra to code idrive) amongst other things. Basically what you can code on a laptop can pretty much be done through bi...

Fine if you possess a Crapple of some sort
I did mean to mention it's iOS devices only. If you don't have access to an iOS device then your only option if you want to code via a smart device is carly. Or you can of course use a laptop, cable and software.

Re: Sytner BMW Service - Crafty Buggers!

I think I'd of walked out and booked the car in elsewhere! I remember we had to take our car back due to an issue caused by the dealer and my wife took it in after a night shift. We weren't expected by the dealer so no courtesy car was arranged but amazingly they found us one and my wife was on her ...

I've not changed the display resolution but I have seen it in bimmercode. When I've got more time I'll have a look for you.

Re: BMW dealer driving the car - normal?

OP, are you worried that if you kick off and complain, you'll have future issues with them dealing with you???? If that is the case, go elsewhere and use a different dealer but still stand for your right!!! If anything the dealer should be scared of the customer complaing and in turn offer great se...

Re: BMW dealer driving the car - normal?

I did raise it with the dealer & sent over the timestamped photos showing the difference by email once I got home yesterday afternoon. No response yet from the service agent at the dealer, however I did get the standard follow up call this afternoon to get my satisfaction scores. I let them know th...
