Re: Wheel Refurb - Painting vs Powdercoat

Mine had been refurbed by Lepsons (powder coat) before I bought it 7 years ago. They still look great today. I had my wife's F07 wheels done by them 6 months ago and they have already been curbed again. The damage is far worse than you would see on a painted wheel as the coating chips and spreads. I...

Re: Air Conditioning

Mine is 12 years old, never had a recharge and still icy cold - but then it has never been turned off.
They don't lose gas unless there is a fault.

I find a/c more useful in the winter than in the summer.

Re: 2006 130i ipod connection

Depends on your car and spec. On the older CCC idrive you can't do anything through the snap in adapter. There was a kit that allowed you to connect your iPod through a lead in the glove box but this is not compatible with Pro Nav - not sure about Business Nav. Cotswold are probably your best bet to...

Snap in Adapter to Aux?

Just wondered if anyone had tried this?
I play music/podcasts from my phone on long journeys which means trailing a y-cable. It would be nice to leave in the armrest in the snap in adapter.
Presumably it wouldn't be that difficult to link the two....... :?:

Citroen tried it with the Xantia, with interesting results....
You've just brought back a memory of walking out to my 2CV only to find that it had rolled off my parents' drive into the middle of the road.

.......and to the OP..... no, never leave an auto in drive with just the handbrake on.

Agreed. I've never had a battery problem - with Bosch or any other make.
Most "battery" problems are just a symptom of another fault.

I have that one in my car. Had it replaced under warranty earlier this year but my problem was the starter not the battery. No questions asked by ECP so no complaints from me. My car has pretty much all the powered options and I've had no problems. I, however, paid only £120 for mine. Aren't Varta a...

Re: Do it all car/estate

I think the manual is quite a bit faster to 60 (about 6.5) but it is a seriously good package and far better than any acceleration figures will suggest. The day I looked at my 130i I viewed two cars - the 130i that I eventually bought from Birds and a low mileage Spec B saloon. It was a tough choice...

Re: Do it all car/estate

I'd echo the Subaru comments. The Legacy is between the 3 and the 5 in size, has a silky smooth engine and the usefulness of 4WD in the winter months. The H6 engine is a bit heavy on fuel but works very well in both manual and auto. A Spec B legacy estate is a lovely drive and the '07 onwards autos ...

Interesting one. We have the same problem on our 2015 F07. Works fine with my old iPhone 4 but have the same problem with my wife's iPhone 6.

Speed rating and MOT

I picked up a s/h set of winter wheels/tyres a while ago and have just noticed that they are only H rated. This doesn't concern me as my car is used as a school run/shopping trolley during the winter and probably never exceeds 50mph. The only issue is that I need to get an MOT this month. Does anyon...

Re: 130i Pre LCI - Battery specs

Is it even possible to code an AGM battery to a car that was never fitted with one?

Re: 130i Pre LCI - Battery specs

I first changed my battery back in 2012. The dealer listed about four different fitments for the pre-lci 130i (all non agm). They said that the battery fitted would depend on the spec of the car. Mine has loads of extras so came with what I seem to remember was a rather large 80ah battery. I've just...

Isn't the 130i auto in the £520 tax band? That would be enough to put me off the auto straight away! :|
Only if it's a pre-lci car registered after 1st March 2006.

I find the E87 paddles work far better on the road than the pull left to downshift/right to upshift style.
