Often BMW dealers will settle any negative equity. We have done this twice including a 24k over milage with damage against an M2
They will but it'll be coming out of the discount on the next car so you're still paying for it.

Re: what car jack

There isn't a front central jacking point, certainly wasn't on my 140. When I fitted my cat back I bought a few of the blocks with the right cut out (eBay) for jacking at the sides and borrowed a standard (cheapo) Halfords trolley jack. The problem I had was was by the time I lifted one side and go...

Re: N00b to BMWs - Advice needed

Thanks all for the comments. I have asked the dealer if they have any info on the previous owner to ask about what springs are fitted. I checked with BMW and it has warranty until July 2019 but if its been lowered would this now be void? Warranty would be void on suspension yes but not the rest of ...

Re: N00b to BMWs - Advice needed

Thanks guys. That's what I thought and I've never really messed with ride height before so wasn't looking for a lowered example. A lot of people on here fit different (lower) springs to improve the handling. Buying already lowered Is definitely something I'd consider if I knew which springs were on...

Re: N00b to BMWs - Advice needed

That is 100% lowered!

Up to you as to whether that is a bonus or not but the dealer is either lying or doesn't know much about these cars.

This would be stock ride height.

Nah, I always lift two wheels at a time, so a jack long enough to reach the diff or the front x member jacking point. Re: M140i Exhaust Options

There's a good video of the turbo back system in the BCS sponsor section. Can't remember if it's sports cat or decat though. I'd get the cat back first and see how that goes. Then you can always easily add a decat later of you don't think it's loud enough but the cat back on its own is pretty loud o...

I seem to get more pops and bangs in Sport+ although I don't have a standard exhaust.

Re: M140i Shell FuelSave vs V-Power - 9,000 miles worth of data

Top work OP. It's good to see some numbers on this. I used to fill up with Momentum 99 all the time and based on some not very scientific checking the average occasionally I believed it to give me a 5% uplift in MPG which meant it was basically cost neutral at 5p litre more. V Power never seemed to ...

I notice you posted the same thread on the Facebook group. Amazing the difference in comments, so much more positive here.
Not surprising really, that group is a proper cesspit of morons. It's only useful for photos of mods.

Re: My first car, Brand new M140i shadow edition

I really don't get the attitude of "house prices are too high so I'll spunk all my money on fast new cars and iPhones". How does that improve the situation? They're only going to get higher and you're only going to fall further behind. Renting is fine until you retire then you're screwed unless you ...

Re: My first car, Brand new M140i shadow edition

My first car was a 1.0 litre Vauxhall Nova with the reg F981 BCM, it was reddish (read sun bleached pink) with a firework down the side. I loved that car and to me it was the best thing in the world as it gave me freedom. I was 17 and it taught me how to drive, not drive well enough to pass a 30 mi...

Re: My first car, Brand new M140i shadow edition

Crikey! I think I'd be dead if I had a 140i as my first car. Luckily I only had a 60bhp 1.2 Nova weighed down with a massive sub and amp to learn the ropes in. OP you're not going to be able to drive the car to it's potential and if you try it will likely end badly. I'd seriously suggest some extra ...
