Re: Wash Bottle Removal

It's not 100% blocked, the BMW garage told me they tried to clear it from the jet end with compressed air, but it didn't work, they think it is the bottle end. Sadly BMW have stopped paying out for the labour under the warranty. Washer fluid will just make it to the bottom of the windscreen but no f...

Wash Bottle Removal

Has anyone managed to remove the wash bottle from a F20 1 series? Mine is currently blocked and in an effort to save £150 I wanted to clean it out myself. I got as far as removing the wheel and the inner arch liner yesterday but I couldn’t get the bottle out, there was one bolt at the top of the arc...

Re: First MOT....FAIL

They aren't too bad overall, I had to take the car in a few times over the fan issue before they actually fixed it. Claimed not to know about the fault which could be the truth tbh. Eventually spoke to the service manager who took the issue seriously and booked it in for serious examination and then...

Re: First MOT....FAIL

Thanks Menace, after having the dreaded fan/limp home issue i wanted to make sure i didn't have another 'known' issue. SWMBO is terrified of driving the car so she is blameless on this occasion. Tweeky - luckily it's just under warranty still and the dealer (Vines Gatwick) have been spot on this tim...

First MOT....FAIL

Hi Guys, My M135i is coming up to 3 years old in May so got it booked in for its end of warranty check, service and MOT. I was surprised when the dealership called up to tell me it had failed. The front offside shock is leaking fluid heavily apparently (non-dynamic shocks), they have ordered a repla...

Re: Insurance

I received my renewal email over Christmas from Admiral and nearly fainted. Its gone from £260 last year to £420 this year. I have had a go on the insurance comparison websites and the cheapest i can find is just over £400! The lady on the phone said that all their prices are based on the statistics...

Re: Loss of power and fan spinning

Mine is from 2014 too, the fault occurred about a year ago but the garage didn't find any faults, it's only recently that they came back. My car has only done about 9k mikes so I guess it took longer to appear

Re: Loss of power and fan spinning

Hi Element, I finally got my fan replaced by Vines of Gatwick, I had to have a long conversion with the service manager and got him to assure me that the technician would look in the BMW fault system PUMA. I have attached a picture of the invoice they gave me below, unfortunately it doesn't have any...

Re: Loss of power and fan spinning

Right, I've called twice now and have been promised calls from a technician.... Nothing. All they want to do is book it in, I want to make sure someone bothers to look this fault up before I waste a day off work for them just to hand it back and say "couldn't see any error codes" Sent from my SM-N90...

Re: Loss of power and fan spinning

Thanks guys, I've called them again today, waiting for a technician to call me back.

They want to simply book it in to take another look at it, however I want them to confirm they know what they are looking for first so I don't waste a day off work again.

Re: Loss of power and fan spinning

Sorry to bump up this old thread but my car has started doing this every time I drive. I had it happen a couple of times about a year ago and I took it into Vines in Crawley but they said they had never heard of the fault and found no fault codes. Obviously they couldn't get it to reproduce the issu...

It's second hand, so was just a holding deposit.

Re: Naughty VW

My brother is in a bit of bother over all this, he put down a deposit on a 1.6D Seat Leon a week or so ago and understandably isn't too keen to follow through on the purchase. The dealer has initially refused to hand him back the deposit so far because VW haven't officially announced a recall. My ar...
