Re: Brakes question M135

Neil

It reads like you could be getting mp 340/345 discs all round for £265 incl del.

If their genuine Brembo and the quality is good then huge result - well done.

http://i64.tinypic.com/28hmzxc.jpg H&R 25mm springs. 8x18 ET35 wheels...stock MPSS tyre sizes. Ride is perfect, less crashy at the rear compared to stock, and zero rubbing even when pushing on. Yet to carry passengers, so cant comment on whether it will rub then. That looks good. If yours fit on ET...

Re: Brakes question M135

Well funny you should ask because I wondered. So I phoned up Amazon and they assured me that it was the price for a pair. However box arrived today with 1 disc. So I'll need to do a bit more phoning - I'll keep you posted. 130 - 140 gbp each sounds abt right as you can get a better deal on a pair f...

Link in amazon would suggest two disks... single item weight 5.11kg shipping weight 10.6kg... cracking price if you do indeed get a pair for the money!
Shipping weight 10kg implies one disc.

FWIW most race fluids with high boiling points are DOT 4.... Just as an FYI there are better fluids out there, but they cost significantly more (also these are all competition fluids and all DOT4) Endless RF650 323 C 218 C (£40 per 0.5l bottle) Motul RBF600 312 C 216 C (£15 per 0.5l bottle) Motul R...

Sam, My thread on my MPBBK upgrade http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=83937. With brake duct covers removed - zero issues on the various TD's I took my car to, and I used DOT5.1 BF too. I assume you had removed the front brake ducts cover in the wheel arch liner - see this BB thread ...

Intresting BP, I hadn’t seen the development of them having been in a diesel for the last 3yrs. I shall take a further look in to those. Hi Peter, did you notice ANY power increase with the Eventuri? I’d love to be able to justify one, but if there’s zero gain... I know the heat shielding is supposed to be good on it for multiple power runs but how useful is that in the real world? If spending a "bag of sand" on a CF intake and expe...

I’m going to start by fitting the rear brace and then go from there. 😀
Sensible approach - make incremental changes and gauge what each change means as you go.

Enjoy the slippery slope !!!

Re: MPPSK for M140 & M240?

Hmm. Three options of sound, that's a nice idea. Bet its too pricey though. M2 c/w MPE you get the following ~ 10 sound variants 1. MPE valves in OEM mode 1a - comfort 1b - sport - ASD upped slightly and exhaust valves tweaked - farts on the upshifts and rev matching burps on the downshift 1c - spo...

Re: First track day done - help me sort my brakes...

Update... The brakes didn't recover from more driving and several hard stops. It's in at BMW today and they are changing discs, pads and a caliper under warranty! I'm still planning to get some Dot4 in there and some 2500s on the front. Fitting non OEM pads upfront will goose the warranty if your b...

I'd be interested in a fully warrantied valved exhaust system as with the MPPSK, rather than the MPE.

Any ideas?
