Re: Sports plus vs MDM programming

For track though sport plus still interferes if you get a bit of oversteer or wheel spinning. Throttle response is great. I have bypassed the ASD anyway so dont get the arcade noise. Seems so weird that BMW programmed it this way. TBH for track, more linear response of MDM/ comfort - or even DSC of...

Re: Sports plus vs MDM programming

Update Drove home and tried MDM, DSC off and sport plus. DSC off mode has sport throttle. In current climate it’ll be my mode of choice as ASD and burbles are less than sport plus so I hear more of real n55 MPE’d voice. Sounds superb with MPE valves open or closed. My 1st response above updated to r...

Re: Sports plus vs MDM programming

Thanks BP I mean Traction off, so the long press is what I used on track but sports plus actually feels so much better for throttle response, would love to have both. Best to ask a coding guru or get onto MHD or BM3 tuning forums to ask if custom configuration of comfort/sport/sport+ button is some...

Re: Sports plus vs MDM programming

Sawda,

MDM mode is short press of TC button - "Traction" displayed - my understanding is
  • comfort for ePAS & throttle;
  • DCT in sport;
  • M-diff/TC behaviour as sport+
Disabling TC - button press and hold then "DSC off" message -
  • sport throttle;
  • sport plus for DCT, ePAS & M-diff
  • TC - off.

either my headphones aren't very good (which is possible) or that sounds nowhere near as good as an N55
Barney,

Your headphones are fine.

Quoting what's already been stated on F87bimmerpost....."There is no sugar-coating the sound coming out of that car."

It is tempting but for the price (and I'm the kind of guy who will want the bluetooth upgrade !).

Re: Power run and Bluespark

Could be tempted by a JB4 still however I may just wait until remapping is officially released. Andrew, Having driven 3 JB4'd B58 cars, JB4 is a very effective way of bumping up Mx40i performance, especially on a stock Mx40i even w/o additional, optional add-on harnesses. AFAIK, JB4 is still the on...

Re: Power run and Bluespark

OP, Assume dyno operator knows how to switch off DSC completely and then how to set ZF8sp AT into manual mode ? If no, then as mentioned already walk away as dyno results like to be a bunch of ar$e. Also, 'hidden menu' has a "roller mode". which AFAIK is mode used at factory, vehicles are rolled on ...

Re: Disc skimming

I had this last week. There's a 99% chance your discs are NOT warped - this is a myth. Whats far more likely to have happened is called 'pad imprinting'. I had it because i was forced to perform a heavy stop with a full car on a steep down hill, but left the brakes on afterwards. I know you said yo...

Re: Race Driver drives a fast lap in my M2....impressive!

I dont want to be the clever one here, but when you enable DSC OFF mode (long press stabilization button), you desable previously selected modes. But, at one moment I thought I saw blinking stabilization light, so I thought you was in Sport mode or in MDM (one click of stabilization button - which ...

Re: My new M2

The RS6 was a great car initially and at the time I needed the space but it eventually became a liability. Running costs were huge but I knew that going into it but I eventually realised that I just couldn’t have fun in it unless I wanted to risk jail term! It was just so capable that anything less...
