Get the bcs midpipe! I had an mpe on my last 140 and it was too quiet, on my new 140 i have the bcs midpipe but standard back box and its quite a bit louder than my ole mpe car, pops and bangs so well.

New M140i Shadow with MPE - Too Quiet

Our M135i with MPE was as loud if not louder than my stock M2 when listening to Mrs Deadeye taking one or the other to work. We're 1000 miles into our M140i Shadow with MPE and the bloody thing is nearly silent. Anyone else gone from an M135i with MPE to an M140i with MPE and can comment on the volu...

Re: Transport Mode?

It will be the throttle mapping. Put it in Sport mode and it will feel more like the M240i. The map on our new M140i feels like 50% throttle comes at 10% pedal if you understand what I mean. Trying to persuade the other half to get an m140i although I’m not sure that sort of throttle mapping will b...

Re: Transport Mode?

Transport mode usual means it's limited to 4500rpm or something.

M2 may "feel" less responsive because the throttle maps are more gentle (ie you have to put your foot further down to get the same actual throttle position you did in your 240.

1200 mile service just means you can rev it's tits off.

Re: Hope this is not an bad omen

Well, I was supposed to collect my BMW Pre-Reg M2 yesterday, so I decided to go out for one last drive of open-top driving - and my roof failed. So its gone back to Stratstone for a warranty repair. I have also ordered some bits already, Carbon Grill, Wing Mirrors & Side Grills - have to wait for d...

Re: BMW discount for MP Coilovers - group buy

With regard to "putting the power down more smoothly" has anyone driven the pre and post LCI close together? I ask because the throttle map is significantly more gentle on my M2 than my M140i... Make the M140i "feel" more urgent but does make gear changes in Sport more jerky...

... Just to keep in mind re pre registered car is that most insurances won't provide new replacement cover, so you might want to consider gap insurance when you get it.
That is a very good point!

Impressive there's still so much improvement to be had suspension wise.

I think it handle great stock but I do notice the back end can be a bit "hoppy" accelerating out of a corner.

Re: BMW Engineer said upgrading iStep causes more issues than it fixes...

The latest iDrive is a PITA.

It defaults to something different every time I get in the car.

If I use "send to car" it wants to take me there every time I get in and for some reason it wants to take me to 32 High Street, Banbury every time I get in.

Re: M2 Exhaust Sound

Having heard both while laid in bed (Mrs Deadeye taking one or the other to work), the M135i with MPE is very slightly louder than the stock M2 on initial cold start. Now when they are driving away from you, the M2 is a fair bit louder - specially when it farts when letting off or changing gear! I w...

Washed it. Love it! The Gyeon coating is great. Much better than the Gtechniq I’ve used on other cars. Used gyeon Foam, Gyeon Bathe+ And the Gyeon wetcoat. Hoping to get the carbon spoiler on next weekend. http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/ag441/Davidrolfe79/94838AAF-E2E3-4976-9E22-973E9B8BA07F_z...
