Re: Bloody Tyres again.....

If you still have tread on the front pair you could offset the purchase of a new set of nnRFT a little by selling your old RFT on the for sale section on here. Their is usually someone wanting to buy them so long as they are not damaged.

Re: Bloody Tyres again.....

I did not keep my RFT on long enough to finddout so I am unable to compare on longevity. I would still have changed even if RFT lasted twice as long as nonRFT but I suspect that they do not last as long. :) Everyone's ranges will be different.

Re: Battery Replacement fot 130i

Bruno28, I can not really give specific advise about you batter other than giving general advice because I am not there. It is a matter of judgement. You could take it to an auto electrician who would run the battery through some tests to say what sort of condition it is in and might give better adv...

Re: Battery Replacement fot 130i

ctek do a range of chargers some more intelligent than others with matching prices. If you look at their website it might explain what each charger might be expected to do. Some of the marine outlets have links to specialist charger manufacturers as will some of the 4x4 outback specialists It also m...

Re: Battery Replacement fot 130i

It is very likely that the battery never receives enough charge to replace what it has lost during all those starts because the engine is not run long enough. This would kill off most batteries after a while. If you can not take it for regular long runs then you should consider charging the battery ...

Re: 118d Handles Like a Barge

Thanks for your posts fellas. I've driven loads of cars RWD, FWD, and 4WD....... I know that something just isn't quite right. I've booked her in for a proper 4 wheel alignment job hopefully that'll show something that can be rectified. Got my eye on a few sets of 18's on ebay but one thing is hold...

Re: 118d Handles Like a Barge

Yes 87H is not likely to be standard and is a low speed rating though that wont really matter for most purposes the 87 loading is low. I run on 91V or W.

Re: Bloody Tyres again.....

I do not know what the car was fitted with as standard but varying the size slightly with accommodation in aspect ratio if necessary is not a problem as long at the tyres come into specification with rim size. Just ask around here what people have it is not necessary to go extreme with width but jus...

Re: Are options classed as mods?

Options and packs fitted from the factory normally do not need declaring, it will all be apparent from the vin code or registration I beleive. If someone applies some of these options after the car has left the factory and dealership and the insurers have not been informed then they will most likely...

Re: 118d Handles Like a Barge

OK Markzombie, Firstly if someone is unaccustomed to RWD it can take a little getting used to, how much accelerator and when when to roll it off and so on. Their should be little between most cars on smooth flat dry corners. What ever end the driven wheels are at, normally when we use power in a cor...

Re: Falkens?

For winter, 16" is the most sensible diameter for most unless it is a 123, 130i or above, then they need 17. Narrow is best, 195/60R16 or 205/55R16. I do not beleive one needs to inform insurers when using winter tyres. nonRFT are better than RFT particularly so for winter use. Be aware that changin...

Re: 118d Handles Like a Barge

You need to be far more specific than just saying feels like a barge at a certain speed. Check the tyre pressures. If you have had it since new then tyre wear might possibly rule out tracking but if the car is newish to you how do you now it has not already run through a set? So tracking could be an...

Re: Love my car but no nothing about them - Headlights

Unless you have automatic self levelling lights, power wash wipe and the appropriate E' Marked Projector lenses you can not legally fit HID Xenon Bulbs to your car. It is illegal for someone to sell them even for an illegal fitments.

Yo can fit more efficient bulbs.
