Re: 130i Owners. A.C question...

I think mine is a little less responsive with the AC on, it's not night and day but I'm pretty sure it feels slower when on (or placebo). I don't use it that much tbh

Re: 130i 2006 - how to find out the oil temperature?

I can't find the parameter without connecting Carly, but there is one there which mentions oil temp, whether or not it actually returns the oil temp is another matter.

Re: Oil filter cap

Worth a shot but could you try it when cold and hot? Something may expand/contract which might help it free up?

Re: 130i 2006 - how to find out the oil temperature?

On Carly my 'oil temp' gets to about 105 - 110c , so maybe the parameter is correct? My water seems to be around 85 - 100 from memory, depending on driving.

Re: 130i 2006 - how to find out the oil temperature?

I did wonder as I can add oil and coolant on Carly and they are both different temperatures, but who knows if they are correct or where that value comes from.

I thought Carly can read this? Not sure if it's the correct parameter though!

N54 oil sensor

I had a similar issue on my 130i (it had leaked some oil from a gasket I think but the sensor was also a bit hit and miss from what I could tell). I had to drain and measure the oil to be sure and I also replaced the sensor when there as it's 10 years old and critical, I had no error codes though. A...

Re: Is this normal? (E87 2007 130i)

Yes my 1st to 2nd can be clunky and hard when cold, 3rd and 4th can also feel a bit clunky but those gears seem to be random as to when it happens. I find when cold in 2nd gear under 1000rpm I can get a crazy kangaroo situation going on , it's like the engine gets stuck in a feedback loop (need powe...

Re: Quick question for anyone that's changed their oil in a 130i

I get 6.5 in mine (after draining the oil filter).

Glad you worked it all out though, it's frustrating when you don't know for sure what's going on or what the garage did, I know the feeling [emoji848]

Looks good! Does the CDV make much difference? Also how does the alignment feel?

Re: E81 130i Vanos Solenoids

I dismantled an old solenoid and tried cleaning one up as an experiment , the only way I felt comfortable that it was fully clean was to use a combination of cleaning fluids, and cycle the solenoid from a PSU rapidly (just my personal view) i actually managed to ignite the fluid and set light to my ...

Re: Emulsion

As above, I left mine standing in the cold for a week with some short trips , a little emulsion appeared on the cap, after driving the car as normal and getting it fully warmed up the emulsion had all gone away.

Re: 130i sticky brakes?

Haha, I'm not used to this stuff, I've been driving a 98 integra for about 8 years!
I took my friend for a drive in the 130i and found out it beeped on reverse!! My friend said "that's parking sensors mate!" , I was chuffed it had those [emoji41]
