Re: Help Please - :—( E87 130i Dashboard Warning Lights - DTC/Brake/TyrePressure

Best thing is to scan for codes. Could be a sensor, won't be reluctor rings as 130 don't have any. If it's a sensor it's easy. If it's the abs pump then it will most likely be a pump motor fault. There's a thread about where I disassembled a motor to see what was wrong. You can get them sent off and...

Re: What to look for...

Thanks for the advice, but I would just like to know what to look for. I know what cars I am looking at and it will be a Fiesta, a CTS OR a 118i M-Sport. I don't mean to sound rude, but the Fiesta and the Corolla both have problems of their own which are expensive too, such as the power steering sy...

Re: What to look for...

Don't bother with the 118. Expensive and riddled with issues.

Get the fiesta.

Forget it. Send it back or get them to replace FOC.

Re: Advice needed - 120d rough idle/cut out and insured warranty

Noted, but as the problem is there at the end of a long journey there's at least something that new glow plugs won't fix. Not always the case as glow plugs are used for cold start and warm up. It's more likely to be an injector problem, but in the past I've had success replacing glow plugs to sort ...

Re: Advice needed - 120d rough idle/cut out and insured warranty

There have always been glow plug codes logged when I've read the faults, e.g. Glow plug cylinder 1, control. Fault Code: 004A5E, but these don't by themselves illuminate the engine warning light so I've pretty much ignored them. BMW seem to be of the opinion that it's more likely to be air supply r...

Re: Advice needed - 120d rough idle/cut out and insured warranty

Could be anything to be honest.

I wouldn't throw anymore money at it for the moment.

Could be your high pressure pump, an injector, rail pressure sensor, etc etc.

Does the idle smooth itself out or not?

I'd say it's more likely an injector.

Look good.

The biggest difference is upping the voltage with Carly.

Re: brand new car - paint issues!

I would suggest you get an opinion from a professional detailer that knows their stuff and potentially just bite the bullet and pay them to correct the issue with a full 3 stage paint correction. I would also push for a refund of the protection you were given as it's clearly a load of rubbish. Under...

I'd guess you're more likely to have an issue with the rail pressure sensor... they seem common.

Went looking for some more info about how to R&R the check valves and found this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1096694
That's the one! Done mine. They were clean and it made no difference.

Re: N52B30 Camshaft bearing ledge?

2011 car has the revised head and chances of bearing ledge issues are slim.

Check the 2 check valves that are in the side of the head are not blocked and replace them.

Re: 2005 E87 130i - overheating

If you scan for fault codes the code to look out for when water pump failure is imminent is a communication fault to waterpump or something like that. It sounds very much to me like a new pump and thermostat are required. If you've got warranty on the pump I would be using it. If the bleed procedure...

Re: 2005 E87 130i - overheating

What pump did you buy?

Sounds like the pump is gone.

You should do a bleed procedure and see if it's working. It's unclear from your post.
