Re: 1 Series Lumbar Support Retro Fit

I had one of these but it just never worked quite right for my back. I only used it for about a month and took it out. Having a clear out so I'm now selling it. It's as good as new. It cost me £45.60 in total inc packaging when I bought it but I'll take £30 and ship it to you for free. I've advertis...

Re: Insurance Offer

Stumbled across my old car on Autotrader now it's been repaired. obviously it's a cat d but still a very cheap way to get your hands on a 130i with full bmwsh and only 60k miles. Would rather it went to someone on here! Edit - Just looking at it.. whoever has done the repairs has put tinted glass in...

Re: Insurance Offer

Just to close this off - the ombudsmen came back to me agreeing with the glass guide amount that the insurers came out with. They didn't take into consideration the adverts I sent them at all. As a heads up guys, if you're in a 130i avoid accidents at all costs because you're gonna get screwed if it...

Re: Insurance Offer

Thanks for the help guys. They confirmed yesterday that they aren't going to pay more than £6,750 and that the only other thing they've done is check parkers which is coming in at £5,500! Unbelievable... After that they even suggested to get an ombudsman involved. I've heard that if you get the ombu...

Re: Insurance Offer

Just a quick update on this. I've explained to the insurers that It's impossible for me to buy another one of these cars, (with that kind of mileage) through trade for anything below £7,500 but they're having none of it. They've said to me that the Glass's Guide is what they go off, and that autotra...

Re: Insurance Offer

James - Sounds like you got an absolute steal! I'm just going off prices on Autotrader of cars up to 70,000 miles. I don;t think it's a bad offer, more just wondering what grounds I'm on to haggle. 0l0dom0l0 - Yes I did consider buying back even just to sell parts like you said, but I live in a terr...

Insurance Offer

Morning guys, Long story short (I'll explain in more detail when i get home from work) I bought a 130i in October last year, and around 2 weeks ago someone went into the side of me. It's been deemed as a total loss and the 3rd party has accepted full liability (good news). I've spoken to my insuranc...

Sounds like your solonoids might need a clean my friend. There's lots of info on here regarding it.

Re: My baby is poorly :(

Turns out it was the ignition coil. They managed to squeeze it in at Darren Wood the same day even thought they were fully booked - decent guys. They just replaced the faulty one however, as I'm going to change the rest myself. I'm on euro car parts, what are peoples thoughts on the HAAS ones compar...

Re: My baby is poorly :(

I'm going to take it over to Darren wood after work today. They said they can read then for £35+vat so just going to go with that and see what they say. Darren and his team look after my car, thoroughly nice guys... And more importantly, incredibly knowledgeable. They'll get you sorted. Good to kno...

Yeah I should probably invest in one anyway. It's on the hit list.

Cheers

Re: My baby is poorly :(

Turns out my warranty ran out two days ago... I live in Manchester, where do you recommend getting it in? Dealer or a decent BMW garage like Darren wood? Got anyone local to you that can read the codes with a carly app? I don't think it's going to be much more than a set of coils and plugs which sh...

Re: My baby is poorly :(

I had something like this and it turned out to be "a broken wire" that was stopping the cylinder firing. Thing sounded and drove like a tractor on 5 cylinders. Can you read the codes? No I don't have a scanner :/. Yeah out sounds like a cross between a tractor and an old school American v...

Re: My baby is poorly :(

Just to clarify - I've left the car at home, not driven it to work.
