Re: Git-r's road/track progress M135i

Yeah there aren't sensors in there, they guess as Marco says, and then limits power to attempt to cool them down i think. There's a website where i found out about coding out the E-Diff (that you should also do asap) and it talks about power restrictions too and brakes cooling etc. Ill have a looksi...

Re: IAT's

It will be, all engines recirculate the oil vapour from the head back into the intake system. You can fit an oil catch can like a lot do (inc me) and this stops the oil build up in the intake system.

Nothing to worry about but this could be where you're getting the different temps from.

Re: DSC light but no ABS warning??

If the rear pads are too low then the DSC light will come on as your anti roll back will no longer work and neither will the traction control as that uses your rear brakes too. Its all connected. Whip off the wheel with the wear sensor on it (its only on one side) and see if its been hit. If it has,...

Re: Dealer deleted dash cam footage

I'd see that as suspect personally. If i have nothing to hide i couldn't care less if someone records me, just as long as its not put on social media without my consent. Both the garages i take my car to leave my dash cam plugged in and don't delete the videos. All i see if them take the car to a st...

Re: 2008 E92 325ISE N54 3.0 Engine Failure

Get that car back ASAP! From what i have learned with BMW garages, there's probably bu**er all wrong with the engine and its a fault they just cannot find. Their technicians are utterly useless! Battery voltage failing can cause all heaps of electrical issues, also the main power cable can cause iss...

Re: 2008 118i E87 performance/visual mods

The Hyundai was faster as it was faster in general. The BMW weighs a fair amount more than a tin can Hyundai and weight saps power. The engine though, that's the restriction. You can get as much air I to it and out as you like but it will only give marginal power gains. What you may find is a map wi...

Re: Which LSD? Quaife - OS GIKEN ?

Giken diffs have been know to fail over the pond in the US. And they refuse to refund/replace them. They're known to be weak. I had a Giken 1st to 3rd kit in my old Silvia and it still stripped 3rd gear running 340 bhp. I wouldn't be putting Giken in my car. Quaife supply a lifetime guarantee. I'm s...

Re: Front Break disc

I have MTEC brake discs and I wouldn't recommend them mate. I'm getting bad squeal and I've had the pads out 4 times now filing edges down, applying grease, removing It, making the springs tighter... still there. I got Ferodo on the rear and they're perfect. I'm going to buy the front set too for wh...

Re: E8X Etiquette - Poll

Im between stealth look and nothing as most of the time its a convertible driven by an old doris.

I look at the fog lamp grills (if theyre not there) and then the wheels/brakes if possible to see if its a 135i. then get happy (but also sad) when it isn't one as im the only 135i in the village

You can get it from M Style. But call them prior to make sure they have stock.

Re: Can the offset be manually increased (from 32 to 35)?

Read my pinned post above, it explains about offsets. An et35 wheel will sit further IN the arch than an ET32. ET32 will stick OUT 3mm further and an ET35. the number is how far the hub mounting surface is from the centre line of the wheel. So higher number from zero the more the wheel sits in the a...
