Re: Kidney Grille Replacement.

I wonder if destroying the old grille could be an option if there is no other way. You’d have to be really careful not to damage the bumper of course.

I remember how frustrating it was.

Good luck!

Re: Kidney Grille Replacement.

As far as I remember he pulled the grille away from the car a bit and reached down and sideways from near the headlight as I remember. Just feeling with his fingers.

This guy is a pretty amazing machanic to be fair. I had given up too.

Old thread I know but did you do it front underneath the car? I can get the top clips out but not the bottom ones...again, pre FL 130i. Thanks.
Not from underneath, from above.

Re: 130 Oil Change

Just in case anyone does buy the Opie oils package, the Mahle filter they supply seems fine (from what I can make out) except that the replacement oil drain plug doesn't fit the 1 series and there is no new brass washer for the old one.

it might be an option over a top spec/late model 130i etc. If i went for a M135i i would want low miles and high spec so good bit more coin.
Or how about a late model E82 125i with the N52 in? Or do you need 5 doors?

Re: F20 - 125i owners ?

What attracts you to the 2 litre engine rather than the 3 litre one in the M135i? Is it just cost?

Alternatively, Euro Car Parts is listing Castrol Edge 5W40 for £30.59 using code SPOOKY80 with free delivery
Good find. Still works out more expensive than Opie though, once you've bought 7 litres and a filter.

Re: Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Modification

Anyone in London willing to do this for me for a price? I have a 135i. This is on my things do list. I took mine to a local indy. I don't think they'd had anyone ask them to do it for a 1 series before, but they'd done it a number of times for people with M3s, so they knew what I was talking about....

Re: Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Modification

I've just done this mod and it made more of a difference than I was expecting. I think in empirical terms the change probably isn't that great. But psychologically I can relax a bit more, because I'm not having to compensate to get a smooth gear change. With the CDV you have to work a bit harder. Wo...

Re: 130 Oil Change

So I'm gearing up to do my first oil change ever as I'm about to take my 130i on a track and I thought I'd learn to change the oil myself! Thanks for this guide. I don't know anything about engine oil. I'm looking on http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ and after putting the details of my car it's giving me 1...

Re: Upgrading from a 130i

Welcome to have a go in mine. It's quite taught with the coilovers and birds arb's but still less crashy than the msport on full soft. I'm 20mins from olodomolo if you do go and see him. What a brilliant offer! Would be great to combine a trip and see both of you, maybe a 3 car meet up sometime :)

Yup, that's a B12 kit.
Thanks. That's quite a glowing review of it from Evo. Reassuring.
