Re: Strange question about tyres

I carry a motorcycle tyre plugging kit in my boot, along with a compressor. It will repair nail and screw punctures (as long as it is not in the sidewall) and will probably last for the remainder of the tyres life. Something like this: http://www.nippynormans.com/f650stf650csf650gsf650-dakar/givi-t...

Re: F21 - rusty brakes!!

One coat of Hammerite or similar will look OK for a bit but not for that long.

De-rust,clean off, good anti rust or etch primer, and then your top coat, and that should be a lasting job.

Re: M140i - initial disappointment

Lots of words here,I'll only add a few more.

All cars have faults, all cars have compromises.

For me the 140 has the best compromises at its price point.

Re: Torturing myself over Terra leather on M240!

I really like Terra, but you do have to be a little careful which body colour you mate it with. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1036917&d=1401623346 Personally I don't think it goes with blue at all...but red, white, grey, black would be OK. However,I'll stick my neck out an...

Re: Hexagon vs Brushed aluminium

I had brushed in my F30 and it showed up slight scratch marks.
Ordered the 140 with hexagon and am glad I did,I prefer the look and believe it will age the best of all the finishes.

...but it doesn't really matter,it's all down to personal taste.

Re: Dilemma

If it's a "toy" you're after, what about an early Elise or even a Caterham 7? Had a Caterham Roadsport 140 15 years ago - bought 2nd hand, ran it for 3 years, cost me £500 in depreciation and about the same again in servicing. Insurance was £150 odd p/a too. Nothing can touch that type of car when ...

Buckled 436m wheels are very common. They're a very cheap, low quality, soft wheel.
I bet they are not cheap if bought from a BMW showroom. :)

Re: M140i - initial disappointment

What you need to remember here is that you simply can't not compare a JCW to the M140i. In fact taking it one step further you can't expect any RWD car to handle anything like a FWD car. My wife has a Mini Cooper and I can throw that down a country lane and be in the knowledge that I have to do som...

Re: Just purchased M135i - Help / opinions needed on some issues

As you say, since you have only just got the car,it would be unreasonable for them to try and put the two damaged alloys down to you. However,I would fully expect them to try it on,in which case I would be very firm and say you either want new alloys or your money back, and if not you will be seeing T...

Re: Dilemma

Difficult one, because our tastes are all different,e.g I wouldn't go back to a manual from a great auto like the 8AT and I suspect many are the same. Anyway,I would keep the m135 and go for a used Cayman S. Why? Because you will then have two cars to match any mood and any practicality. The Cayman w...

Re: Fitted some bits while spring cleaning....

How do the pedals covers fit? Just clip over? Footrest was v hard to track down, that's from motzon.com and sticks on with 3m tape. The accelerator and brake pedal are eBay specials that slip on (but the brake pedal requires you removing the original rubber one). I found they still wriggled around ...
