Re: Bluewater Meet 27th May

If you're organising a meet, please can you start a fresh topic.

(The weekend of July 28th/29th is the Budapest Grand Prix, which usually limits attendance)

Re: Dip stick

An overfilled sump warning is a sure sign you're getting fuel (from DPF regens) in your sump, which is really bad news for your timing chain. (Engine oil diluted with diesel doesn't lubricate properly.)

Re: Order cancelled by factory - absolutely gutted!!!!

Yup, M2 Comp only now. Current M3 is toast too, no more build slots.

M4 is still going for a little while longer.

Re: Order cancelled by factory - absolutely gutted!!!!

No more manual M-Lites as they can't pass real world emission tests, according to TRL. The BMW configurator website must be a little out of date. Thanks, interesting. What about the manual M2 with the N55 I wonder? You can't order any N55 M2's any longer, BMW were forced to switch to the S55 with a...

Re: What to look for?

Here's a very recent identical thread: http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=111703&p=1413540 It's the previous generation N54 which suffered HPFP, injector and turbo issues, the M-Lites are proving to be strong so far. Re: New Brake Lines and Fluid

Changes the behaviour of the DSC Hydro (ABS) module, which controls the feel, brake balance, rain clearing (wipes the discs), all sorts. You may have noticed the current behaviour of the brake pedal, normally it's got a long travel, but occasionally it can surprise you and be short/firm. That's the ...

I'd probably for 235/40/18 95Y or 245/35/18 92Y rear so you're future-proof.

Re: Kwikfit wouldn’t repair run flat

Correct, no difference what-so-ever on M140i/M240i, which can come with both proper tyres and Runcraps.

You can physically fit Runcraps to a standard alloy, but you can't drive on them deflated as they'll instantly dislocate from the bead (making the exercise moot....)

Re: New Brake Lines and Fluid

Is that worthwhile on such a new car? Sure I read somewhere that the standard lines on the Mx40i’s are Kevlar reinforced anyway. I fitted goodridge stainless hoses on an E46 years ago and it made a very noticeable difference, but that was an 8 year old car with tired rubber brake lines. Correct, ze...

Re: Engine Oil Warning - Advice Needed

Hmmm, at that efficiency I'd expect your first service to be nearer 13,500 miles, unless it's the oil quality monitor that's tripped (too many metal particles in the oil). Did you do a run-in service at 1,000ish?
