Re: Whats the value of this

£16,750 - £17,000

£18,800 is cloud cuckoo land, no wonder the winning bidder wouldn't pay it, probably his ex-wife trolling the auction!

Re: M140i end of production?

7 year production run is normal, and the F20 was released in 2012. M240i should die off a year later in 2020.

Re: Fuel efficiency 120i

Driving just 4 miles the engine is barely getting warm, so I'm not surprised. I'd be on my pushbike in the summer!

Is your 25-miler a quiet motorway run? How often do you check your tyre pressures?

Re: Car rocks back and forth after braking to stand still

Do you still have the old pads? Could you pop the rears back in temporarily?

Re: Vinyl wrapping exterior subtleties - insurers?

Technically you should declare any and all modifications from stock. It would be a pretty petty Loss Adjuster to deny your claim due to wrapped trims, I'd be surprised if they even noticed. However, as a cautionary tale, have a read about this stickered up Girl Racer.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk...

Re: Non runflat pressures

Try adding a psi into the rears, see if that helps the balance.

Have you fitted some Rear Subframe Inserts yet? Whiteline or Nothalene are usually the best value, Powerflex are the easiest to come by.

Re: Tall drivers: how do you have seat adjusted?

You can quickly remove the grab handle, I do when wearing a helmet in the car. Iirc, you ping off a cover, and remove with a torx screwdriver.

Do you have lots of tilt on the seat base currently? That could drop your butt an inch or so.

Re: Water Temp?

Lane Departure is an optional extra, Coolant temp became standard in the summer of 2017, iirc (don't quote me on that). It cannot be retrospectively coded so that it works.

Re: car pulling after rear tires replacement

You can't screw up the alignment by changing the tyres, it usually gets knocked out if you hit a pothole. Severely doubt it's ATS's doing.

Re: Water Temp?

Lane departure warning lines, and yes, that's a coolant temperature gauge down the bottom.

The temp in the centre of the screen is ambient air temp.

No, it needs to go on a Hunter alignment rig (or similar) really. Try: https://www.alignmycar.co.uk/

Re: car pulling after rear tires replacement

If it is crabbing, I'd want it aligned asap. No point in scrubbing out a second set of tyres.

Make sure to find a decent alignment centre with a talented operator who's familiar with setting up BMW rear axles, they're a proper PITA to get spot on.

Re: Cataclean

It's not revs you need, it's high fuel flow to clean out the injector nozzles.

Lots of time with your foot mashed hard into the carpet, 6th gear up a long steep section of motorway is ideal.
