Re: Car leasing companies....?

Thanks for all the responses guys... After following the advice here, I managed to get a deal on a 3yr lease for a VW Polo 1.2 tsi Match with metallic. There's a new Polo out before too long so good deals around. Managed 3+35 at £148 p/m so happy with that. Not the best car but suits us perfectly at...

Car leasing companies....?

Have had the 1 series on a 4 year PCP deal coming up to 3 years now and the outstanding finance would be covered by selling the car. Having recently moved to somewhere with no parking and the house being on a narrow country lane, a smaller car is required. We don't cover many miles now, up to 8000 t...

Audi A1 Sportback?

We are soon to move house and will be moving to a property which is fairly rural with parking on the (VERY) narrow lane opposite. Due to this, I'm looking at a smaller car. Last few cars have been E97, E87 and now F20 116i 5 door. As it's only the 2 of us we could get away with a smaller car and the...

Re: Squeaky door rubbers - Help

I've just used so many sprays, lotions and potions over the years (gummi pfledge included) and they all seem to make the problem worse. Keeping the seals clean and free of residue seems to be the way forward but never thought to use panel wipe!

Re: Squeaky door rubbers - Help

Panel wipe eh? May try this. Always happens on mine after I have polished and sealed the car so makes sense that the seals have been affected by the polish etc and needs a good clean...

Re: Tyre bulge - buying part worn?

Cheers; was just after a little reassurance I guess. Part of my reasoning is that the car will no doubt be traded in in about 8 months (3 years into a PCP) so if I can avoid spunking a wad of cash whilst remaining safe and legal in the meantime... In negotiations with an eBay trader for one with 6mm...

Re: Tyre bulge - buying part worn?

So, no issues if I go for a part worn with decent tread?

Re: Tyre bulge - buying part worn?

Hi guys, Not a huge tyre expert so hope someone can assist. Just cleaning the car earlier an noticed a small bulge in the sidewall of one of the rear tyres, which will obviously need replacing asap. It's a Runflat Bridgestone Potenza S001 245/35/18 88Y. Local places are quoting £170 and cheapest I'...

Re: BMW assistance call out

Agree with the above. I've had a couple of MINIs and Beemers and tend to get the same guy out. I've found that if you don't speak to them like a piece of sh*t, they'll generally go out of their way to help. I've had a couple of instances where I should have been charged and they've put it through as...

Re: F20 116i to F20 118i - Anyone Switched?

38mpg on a long run? That's a concern...

In the 116i, if I set cruise to about 75mph and pop into eco-pro, I'd get about 50mg on a long m'way run....

Re: F20 116i to F20 118i - Anyone Switched?

Hi mate,

Yeah, saw that thread. I'm pretty sure the engine power will be fine (nearly same as 116i). I guess the economy is the biggie for me. What are you getting at the moment?

F20 116i to F20 118i - Anyone Switched?

Morning all, 2 questions really; Have had my F20 116 coming up to 2 years now. Suits me fine as most of my driving is round town so quick enough when needed but has also been exceptional on fuel (over 40mpg on commutes and have seen 53mpg on a long m'way run, so slightly better than the E92 325i I h...

[quote="Kerr"]It'll always stand out if you just try and dab it in. quote] Not necessarily true IMO. Sure, if you just splodge paint on with a big brush it will look terrible. But done carefully and slowly with a fine artist brush, and I've had great results. Whilst not absolutely 100% perfect, I'd ...

Re: Scuff

Personally, I'd grab a bottle of touch up paint with laquer (ebay cheaper than stealers for smaller amounts like this). Grab a 00 grade artists paintbrush and very gradually 'dab' rather than stroke the paint into the affected areas. Allow to dry inbetween coats until level. Always had good results ...
