Re: Help with which Engine to choose asap

Dont think the DMF issue is limited to the pre-FL cars.

I think several factors combined to cause timing chain problems on FL cars with the N47 engine. Was poorly designed, had tensioner issues and long oil service intervals combined with diesel dilution from DPF regens led to excessive wear.

Re: Bmw 118d remap

DPF delete is an MOT failure if the tester spots it or they bring in new tests for it.

Heres one possible reason for not doing a remap http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f= ... 7bffeba9f5

Re: Problems with my 118D

Who did the remap ? You told them about it breaking down 24 hours later?
I guess some would question how wise it was remapping a 9 year old car with that many miles.

Marco - is this the 118D generation with diffs made of cheese ?

For what it's worth it think the black look too dark. I think the ferric grey wheels in this post look great. [url][viewtopic.php?f=11&t=100344url]

Re: Tyre Pressure Light

Most of us start off at 35psi all around then adjust to suit our liking and road conditions. I ended up at 34psi owing to dreadful local road surfaces. Also depends how loaded the car is with passengers & luggage What tyre did u get?

Re: Tyre Pressure Light

Reset has to be done with the engine running and the button needs to be held in for about 5 seconds. You should get some sort of 'tick' or 'OK' to show its been done. I think its meant to be done every time you adjust your tyre pressures but doubt everyone does.

Re: New 120d - what should I do first?

Changing the gearbox & diff oils is probably a good idea with that mileage. Both are considered lifetime oils by BMW and not part of their normal service schedule. A coolant change might be worthwhile too. Lots of folks on here use the Carly app for diagnostics & coding - have a nose around the codi...

Maybe worth checking the fitter screwed the valve in tight.

Re: Phone eject box retrofit

IIRC the snap-ins were specific to particulate phones and kinda expensive. Best check you can even get one for your particulate phone before going down this route. Another alternative is the leather-style phone wallet that BMW did which attaches to the underside of the armrest. http://www.realoem.co...

Re: Aircon not blowing cold enough air!!

BMWs come with a 3 year manufacturers warranty. How old is your car exactly ?
Did it come with any sort of warranty from BigMotoringWorld (mebbe not worth the paper) ?

Re: Aircon not blowing cold enough air!!

Still under warranty ?

Its generally recommended to run the aircon all year round. keeps all the seals and moving parts lubed. also dries the air inside the cabin.
