Re: TWO VALVE Rims.

Thanks gents, To answer McTrucky Is it definitely a second valve hole? Yes, I believe So! Could it be meant to be used by a rim lock? No too flimsy for a rim lock. If it was a tubed tyre on a high performance car maybe it is to stop the wheel turning inside the tyre , and riping the valve off? I don...

TWO VALVE Rims.

I saw a late model Honda (hatch-back I think?). It had two valves on each wheel. The positioning of the valves were not opposite on the rim, but rather side by side (say 6" apart). According to Honda they must have been some type of after-market rims. I further "Googled" and found some answers that ...

Re: Eccentric shaft sensor seal

I'm interested to hear your result after replacing that gasket. I had to have the gasket on the oil filter mount replaced.
The items you mention are the usual source of oil leak that cause oil odour in the cabin... Very hard to find!
Regret I cannot help with DIY.

Re: 120i E87 Just Cut Out

Thanks guys, this gives me something to work-on/ investigate.
I'll get the fuel rail pressure sensor looked at.
Also, I'll try it with a low level of fuel ( I will have to be careful turning across traffic!).

Re: 120i E87 Just Cut Out

BUMP!
Thought I would get something regarding this problem on a 2005 BMW 120i
I'm running with my own thoughts that maybe the fuel pump doesn't pump enough when only 4 litres left in tank.
Or sluggish auto gearbox causes it to stall when not accelerating.
It hasn't let me down since software upgrade.

Re: 120i E87 Just Cut Out

So far two BMW mechanics have looked at above cut-out problem. One recommended a software upgrade. Another had no solution This software upgrade was done (Aust $380)... No repeat episode, thus far, however, my wife will not let the fuel get below 1/2 full level! Hence, no firm solutions as yet! I ca...

120i E87 Just Cut Out

My wife car is a 2005 120i. she is worried because the car suddenly cut out whilst running down to an intersection in traffic. It restarted pretty well straight away, however there was a panic moment of getting it into park and pressing the start button. I drove it for the week and had the same resu...

Re: Which bolt if any?

I think it may be an extraction bolt hole, where a bolt is screwed into the casting to help release the sump which may be stuck hard on!
The small leak maybe from elsewhere, which decided this is the lowest point from which to hang!

E87 2005 ~ Service Light

The service light has remained on for quite some time, although, it disappears once car has started.
Is there a quick method of re-setting it?

I hope its not short term and more oil accumulates.

Re: Oil Leak ~ Hard to find!

Bump.... Maybe Nottsknots is correct and it is too hard to diagnose an oil leak over a forum? Also, there are no common areas where oil leaks are prevalent!

Re: Oil Leak ~ Hard to find!

Sorry I'm talking about smell of oil in the cabin... when the cam cover gasket or vacuum pump seal leaks there is always a tell=tail smell of oil in the cabin... It is mainly because the oil runs onto the exhaust manifold and give an oily smell. Oil leaks are usually where gaskets and seals are defe...
