E82 e81 e87 e88 angel eyes

Post by Slickz_jm » Mon Jul 17, 2017 12:51 pm

Hi guys,

I've read through a few forums recently, some old some new.

Looking to get angels on my e82.
However I have LCI headlights and I really like the brow.
So my options are as follows:

Get it to headlight retrofit up in Glasgow, who will open up my headlights and add angels and projectors and illuminate the brow like kingkhan has done in the past. This option is looking the best at the moment. Do you guys know any other places who provide this service?

Secondly, I could stuff my love for the lci brow and go for the led ring v2 depo which are bright unlike the v1 (even with led bulbs). However if the ring fails on the v2 - new headlight will be needed.

What do you guys think?
Feel free to add any pictures of your angels.
Thanks lads!

What is the cost on the retrofit option? Just curious. I have LCI lights but no DRLs too.

I think it's close to £400 with a HID kit included

Do you need to drive up there for them to do it or post your lights to them?

Check out emtunning on Instagram. He's doing BMW rebuilds now, big in the Audi forums. I've bought bulbs from him for the last 5 years for various cars knows his stuff and the custom work is ace.

Yeah Sonic also recommended EMtuning. I've emailed him.
Just waiting a response!

Option 1: Headlight retrofits conversion in your halogens - AVOID. I have personal experience and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Option 2: Depo V1 plug and play, just replace the bulbs for LED's.
Option 3: Depo V2 plug and play but if the ring goes you have to split the light to fix OR get a new light. Whichever you prefer and budget.
Option 4: Do an OEM Xenon retrofit in complete OR fit the lights and swap some pins/wires. Mihad1 has done the latter.

You can take Option 2 or 3 and use a company like EM Tuning to do the work. There are other companies but I wouldn't recommend them. Avoid MeanMods, Avoid AutoMods, Avoid NeverEnoughMods and avoid a guy on this forum that was doing Depo conversions, username Toby_E82 or someshit like that. I have personal experience with Toby and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. A few friends have experience with NeverEnoughMods and again WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. EM Tuning Bit pricey but highly recommended. BIG in the Audi scene and getting bigger in the BMW scene.

Now, in regards to the LCI eyebrow, On OEM Xenons cars it lights up, on Halogen cars, it's just there for looks. What you can do is get a sticker off eBay and stick that on to mimic the LCI eyebrow look OR you can get reflective higher quality vinyl that will also give the impression that the bar/eyebrow is lit up. It works by reflecting light from the headlight bulbs (when on) to give the impression that the eyebrow is lit up.

I have a pair of these stickers and the quality looks great but I haven't applied them yet.

I've PM'd you all of this but I thought I'd add it in here as well.

Thanks for this mate! Now atleast all forum members who have similar thoughts can see the options available. Be sure to bring some pics of the eyebrow once it's installed !

My depo V2 with HID's which I'm happy with as more reliable than my old custom depos.

I bought mine off a legend forum member who was selling his car and wanted a hand taking them out. So I helped and bought them.

Postage could be expensive but I can only find these ones for sale - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172717156379
