So... Ordered this radio at monday and recieved it yesterday. Very fast delivery...

So far everything is working. Even bluetooth, without coding.

Also, first order from China. :D

Waiting to see how Wullie gets on with his cable choice. My head unit is on route :)

Following this one. I already have the BT head unit but the display is on its way out. This would work out cheaper than sending it off for repair in the UK bizarrely from what I can see.

Yeah I'm in the same situation so I've been watching this thread to see how it pans out. I was going to send it off to get the screen fixed but if these head units work as expected I'll just buy a brand new one.

Has anyone noticed any difference in sound quality between these and the original?

This is the one I ordered, hope that helps.
The Mic and the aux connector will probably work, but the USB will not. I also tried these Chinese usb cables. First thought the problem was in the radio itself but it's not. When you buy the original BMW fakra cable + usb/aux-input socket it will work just fine.

The sound quality of the Professional HU is a bit better then my old business one.

This weekend I also installed a usb/aux-input socket (4 10 9 237 653) and the necessary cable (61 11 9 129 360). It's working perfectly!

See my previous post. ^ It was around 70€ incl VAT (here in the Netherlands).... I know, quite expensive comparing it with the radio

The new "gong" sound is very loud. Is there another way to turn it down?
Alreay turned it to the minimum in radio options, still very loud...

Do you have Hi-Fi/Logic 7 or an aftermarket amp installed?

Hmm. You could probably code it quieter but everyone says these need an ICOM interface to code...

Another option is to code your KOMBI/cluster to enable the crappy built-in gongs instead. They sound rubbish though :-(
