I'm due to renew my insurance in the next week or so, have my renewal price through which is as expected, slightly more than I paid last year.
I have been on comparison sites and found it a good amount cheaper elsewhere, but doesn't offer the third party cover on other cars that I currently benefit from. I have called my insurer to discuss my renewal, and they applied their "maximum loyalty discount", a total of £30 which took it down to what I paid a year ago.
Who does everyone else insure their 130 with, and what are you paying? I'm 26, 8 years clean licence, 8 years NCB, low risk postcode.
I went with Chris Knott for my 135i. I'm a similar boat I'm 25 with 8 years no claims and a clean licence. They knocked £20 off the best quote I received and gave me a much better policy. I'd definitely recommend giving them a call and make sure you mention babybmw.
I'm 26, 8 years NCB, low risk postcode (I think) me as main driver with the wife as a named driver, also clean history an I paid £400 through Axa. It was my 3rd year getting insurance on the car and paid around £470 with Axa the previous year. I ticked the "Do you have a dashcam" box as yes, because I do, and their only terms on this is that should I have abump, I send them the footage. There was no set make/model that had to be bought, so I bought a real cheapo one from ebay. It works perfectly fine and cost 16 quid with a large SD card.
Note I only do around 6k a year with a further 1k business miles. Don't think I have any 3rd party cover.
When I did a quote without a cam, they wanted £440.
My £312 includes protected no-claims and legal protection.
Haven't had to make use of the legal protection myself but I know a few people who wished they'd had it, as they haven't had a lot of help with claims which weren't their fault.
