Clean engine bay!
Whenever the weather warms up a bit I really want to give my engine bay a good clean, any tips on how I should do it?

Re: Clean engine bay!
I wouldn't get it too wet, people have got themselves in serious trouble with power-washers and steam cleaners in the past!
A damp microfibre cloth, maybe a bit of Muc-off or Mr Muscle de-greaser spray, followed up by a wipe with '303 Aerospace'.
Low tech, high quality results.

I did mine. Autoglym engine de greaser, spray it on, agitate dirt using plastic detailing brush.
Cover over alternator with cling film and also any sensors etc.
Rinse using normal garden hose (with the shower type attachment)
Dry then apply some plastic detailer etc.

Re: Clean engine bay!
I've not done full engine bay, but my secret ingredient is Armor All Tire Foam. I only took off the engine cover, the air duct and cover and the cabin filter shroud. Outside the engine and away from the car, I sprayed Tire Foam over all three and left to do its thing for about 5 to 10 minutes. I then used an air gun with my air compressor to blast the foam and dirt off. For any remaining residue I used a microfiber cloth to wipe dry. As the cloth was the slightly damp with Tire Foam I used to wipe around the engine like the oil, washer, fluid caps, sides of the bay, the bottom of the windscreen and bottom of cabin filter shroud etc. Gave me a pretty good and clean result until you start inspecting closely as I didn't pay much attention on getting in every nook.
Like others have said, I would NEVER take a power washer to an engine bay. Begging for a dead car, but at least you'd have an engine block to repurpose as a coffee table stand!
However, if you did want to risk it I would follow this:

And here is where I got my secret ingredient idea from....that's not so secret being on YoiTube

Re: Clean engine bay!
I did mine late last year, 1st attempt just used a de-greaser and a microfibre cloth and a heavy duty detailing brush for the bits I couldn't easily get to...
