Corrosion

Post by MsportShaun1 » Sun Feb 18, 2018 6:20 pm

I'm starting to see signs of corrosion /paint bubbles, around the boot release handle on my 135.
Has anyone else seen this.?

As far as I know it's never been in an accident, all looks straight in the boot.

It's not uncommon by the sound if it then.
I'm guessing it wouldn't be covered in the 12 year corrosion warrant?

I'd best get it sorted in the summer either way.

Thanks for the replies.

Give it a go. I was told 3 years for bubbles, 12 years for perforation (where you can see light through a hole in panel).

Yeah I have a feeling it would have to be rusted through for a warranty claim, and that won't happen unless I feed it salt water for the next 2 years before it hits it's 12th birthday.
But I will call in next time I'm passing a bmw dealer, worst they can say is "No go away".

Yes they did, as expected.

I've just had it repaired/resprayed plus the front bumper done while it was in. That releaved me of £600.
