Wheel Spacers

Post by Jake'sBMW » Thu Mar 15, 2018 12:25 pm

Hi All,

I am looking to order a set of wheel spacers for my E82 and have come here to find out what you guys recommend, where to buy from and what size?

Ideally I want the wheels to stick out a little more so that they are in line with the wheel arches. The wheels on my car are BMW 313 18" Alloys. If you require any further information please let me know :-)

Thanks!

Jake

Never mind I did some research. Assuming my research is correct -

Fronts - 7.5J ET49 - 12mm spacer decent stance or 15mm for pokey

Rears - 8.5J ET52 - 12mm for decent or 15mm for pokey.

So in order of my choices (yours maybe different of course)

a) 12mm all round

b) 12 on the rear and 10 on the front

c) 15 on the rear and 12 on the front

d) 15mm all round

I would go with 12mm all around. I had 12 and 15 on my previous car and thought the 15mm spacers were borderline too much.

Would like to see a picture of the 313's with spacers

Thank you very much Twenny! I will go with 12mm all round, where do you suggest purchasing these from and what brand? Do I need to worry about my stud pattern?

Many thanks,

Jake

Hi,
Before you buy any spacers take a wheel off and measure how long the hub spigot is ( part centre of wheel locates onto) as this dictates the minimum spacer thickness, it can be no thinner than the spigot is long or it wont sit flush and break when you tighten wheel up (don't ask me how I know!) what ive found on my cars 12mm front has always been okay but on rears 15mm is sometimes thin as you can go as spigot has been 14-15mm long, this was on E87 130i, E82 135i and current E81 130i for reference, but many cars vary so worth a check before buying spacers that wont go on.

Now on my 3rd 130i, this time a nice E81 in Graphite, Previously 2 x 130i and 2 x 135i
