Would consider a swap or part exchange for a VW UP! For the wife.

Thanks mark. I think it's the right price now.

What a great car the 130i is... I'll be really sorry to see it go. I find driving it gives the same satisfaction I had from my motorbike. It's so well balanced, the grip is so easy to find and manage.

I'll be back to a BMW in 3-4 years, most likely an M2.

This one is CAT D.

Cheers for pointing them out

1st one would be the best bet but no mention of SH - do I assume from that it doesn't have any or it may have some or even complete but the seller deems it so unimportant they didn't bother to mention it? Attention Luke from Coventry you are not passing step 1 of the selling criteria set by buyers who care about what they are buying + who they are buying it from and if you can't be bothered mentioning it then I can't be bothered asking

2nd one was easy to dis miss - again no mention of SH but a cat D with retaining damage not fixed and nearly 100k miles on it

What do we reckon to the life of the auto box on the 130i? Should I worry if the otherwise perfect 130i auto pops up but its got a bit more mileage then I'd like?

Just ask him the questions (he has said said to that effect too) and get the last 7 digits of the VIN to check the spec. His lack of info on the ad wouldn't put me off asking. That's like spitting in the wind. If he fails to answer or gives a shoddy response that's different.

Okay cokey fair enough good advice - I'll give him the benefit of my doubting skeptical mind + enquire about the car

Will be reporting back in due course

The price has dropped about £1000 since the 140 came out I think, that's the feel anyway.

I think the prices will hold steady for another year or so now however. The gap has closed too much between the M135 and the 130i.

I paid a little over the odds for mine at £6000 not even 2 years ago and now I'm only getting interest at £4500. It has the plateau at this price for a while. I don't think there's many straight cars out there an owner would let go for less as there is nothing to replace it in terms of value for money.

I have to say I'm surprised to see them for sale at sub 5k. The time of year plays it part, of course.

Exactly that; bad time of the year to be selling.

Have neither of these two cars been spotted yet? If I was still in the market for a 130 I would be on the case!

Hehe Octavius you are such a tease!

But lucky for me there are quite a few manuals for sale at the moment + not too many other people (that I know of) looking for a much scarcer auto

For some reason I can't see the photos that adam1990 posted in his screenshot.
Wow that red 130i auto does look the dogs dangly bits don't you think!

Thanks for pointing it out roundasapound (not that you're biased on colour or anything ....... ?)

But hey that has got to be 1 rare little beasty don't you think - that mileage (48k) + that colour in an auto?

Having a think about it - its a bit over budget - I may need to live on jam + bread for quite a while ...... :D
