Congratualtions - just what you wanted. That must have been a nice trip too.

Now M3 LCAs. Even if it's the only mod you do, it's transformative!

Toed how easy is the LCA job?

Quite straightforward. The inner bush fixing to the front subframe is often a bit tight, but gentle tapping with a soft hammer aligns the bush quite easily. One of the track rod ends was seized on my car and would not budge with heat. I ended up with a new track rod end. My friend had his done last week, one of his was seized too, but it freed with local heat. It would be a good idea to start spraying them with penetrating oil a few days before the job is done.

If the car is fitted with Zenons, you need to replace the headlight adjuster with the M3 item or the headlights will be out.

Remember that the tracking will be horribly wrong once the new arms are fitted. It must be tracked immediately, so I might suggest that if you are doing the job yourself, free off the track rod ends and tweak the toe to closer to parallel before you have it aligned. It's also worth knocking out the camber pins before you go. I had M3 settings with the max negative camber and I've been very happy with it. My friend went with zero toe. I look forward to driving it to see what it feels like.

Hi all - after a couple of years in a e39 530i, I'm looking to get back in to something a bit more sporty as a daily!

It looks like I am joining a very long list of buyers..... I am in the market for a 3 or 5 door manual 130i M Sport. Heated seats a must, xenon's preferred. A full history is more important than milage. I scan the usual sites daily (AT, GumTree, eBay, PH etc) but I would love a car known to the Forum and looked after by an enthusiast.

My budget is £6k max. If anyone is planning on selling in the next month or so, it would be great to have a conversation about your car.

Cheers,
Stew
Stretch just a little bit more and tsmr's 130i is up for sale at £6995 with a few nice extras
I saw his one on AT and on here. Lovely car with all the right bits - but I really want heated seats for a daily
Hi Stew

Have you seen this one? Electric, heated seats... miles are a bit high, but as long as it has been well maintained, these engines are strong. You may want to consider replacing things like shocks, springs etc if you like to modify your cars a bit...?

Anyway, good luck with the search. :)

Odd that they have not sold...

The poor photos on Gumtree won't be helping - I don't know why people don't take pics of their whole cars from all angles. Maybe they worry about giving the registration number away - clearly these cars are never driven on the public highway with number plates! I think that allowing potential buyers to check the MOT history is a good thing.

Yes it's rather amusing when reg plates are pixelated or just not shown

I keep checking the MOT history of 130i autos I see for sale coz it's continually surprising how many have or had at some point an oil leak - it's the sleeve from the autobox a £10 part + a real weak point I'd never buy one with that on its record

I'd be checking the gumtree one but Tina is clearly paranoid

Thanks for the link - I did see that one but it doesn't have the heated seat buttons under the climate control so I think the description is an error (unless some cars had the buttons else where?)

Fortunately I've found one locally and put a deposit down. I'll start a newbie thread with details once collected later this week!

As far as I know the older cars had the heated seat buttons in the separate button bar. Later models had them on the climate control panel. The blue car doesn't seem to have them (from factory).

Well spotted, doesn't surprise me; it will be listed incorrectly then. Probably stay away from this example anyway as there are cleaner ones for sale out there.

Anyone interested in mine? What about if I brought the price down a little for a forum member?

I can't seem to find the 'create post' on the classifieds section. I tried to list it this week ... am I allowed yet to post in there? I also got BMW to print an original spec sheet which I will photograph too for viewers.
