It's a real shame that some of you guys aren't getting on with enjoying driving a 130i. There's probably some fantastic cars slipping through your fingers.

They're so great to drive, you'd soon forget if it had an advisory 6 years ago for an empty screen wash bottle !

22,000 ish miles in mine in about a year. They're so reliable. 6 ignition coils replace, aside from that. Good to go. Higher millage in these cars is nothing to worry about. Enjoy the savings. The residuals in a few years will sting guys spending over the odds on these cars.

Get buying, stop chasing the dragon !

Come and drive then buy mine :-)

Just come and drive it ! I need the company!

I agree with the above a few miles is nothing to worry about on these cars. I would ad that there are a lot of dogs for sale at atny given time though. Buy a straight car with plenty of bills rather than on spec or mileage.

Apols yes I know I haven't been on here for a week or 2 but don't worry I'm still sat quietly in the background watching the market - still got that parking space free + empty waiting for the 130i

I did go buy a car last week but prob not quite what you'd be expecting! Its to replace my every day runabout which is a Focus 1.6 petrol .... still awake? Bought a Civic 2.2 cdti es (heated leather, cruise, dual climate, etc) with a view to doing at least a stage 1 remap on it

Yes I know derv  but it will be a great contrast with a 130i for the 2nd car .... that's my plan

It was as cheap as chips on copart so can't go wrong really - an 08 reg with 53k on the clock, one elderly owner from new, full Honda main dealer SH just made a cat d as the old fella had taken a bump on the passenger door + smashed the headlamp + pulled off the wheel arch trim - costing me a couple of hundred quid to sort out

Its amazing what some cars are written off for these days - we all pay for it in the end thru our premiums I suppose

Just seen the new pics of the 130i auto on Atrader with GT Performance - the original 4 pics they had up were well scabby wouldn't have got me travelling down there on the strength of those - don't know why its taken them so long to put some decent ones up

Apart from that not seeing any other autos that I'd consider

How's the little red rocket doing?

Worth considering that a full inspection from a decent BMW specialist will probably cost about an hour of labour (maybe £80) and they will put the car on a ramp and go through a ton of stuff. If you do that before you buy, you'd have a very good idea of the condition of the car, and you're almost certain to find some stuff you can use to bargain down as well...

Well I'm glad you're doing ok :)

I had lots of fun in my 120d with a Superchips Bluefin. When I jump in the VRS it's got so much punch and never fails to bring a smile to my face. Nothing wrong with a good torquey diesel car. If you can have the best of both worlds, why not?!

That auto 130i with GT performance has gone  just checked, nothing there. Just 2 high milers on AT at the moment.

I'm still having lots of fun with the red rocket. Still very happy with my choice. Small car with a big Jekyll and Hyde engine.. what's not to love?!

Hopefully an auto 130i with correct spec and the right price will come around soon. Fingers crossed it won't be like buses. None at all then all at once

 Cheers for the reply Yes just love a good torquey derv Think I needed to buy the Civic + map it just to keep me amused whilst that 130i auto comes along

And the Civic won't cost me much hence safeguarding my 130i piggy bank

The LMB one is still for sale at GT Performance - don't narrow your search by selecting 'auto' it will come up if you look at all regardless of gearbox

Maybe that's in my favour then if all those looking for an auto are going to jump straight in + narrow their search by auto?

But then I'd have to put up with dealing with a dealer and I'm not sure I fancy travelling all that way for that sort of displeasure - a private seller would be soooo much more better

One will turn up I know it will can't rush these things - market is bound to move a bit as spring rolls round .... enjoy :spotman:

Thanks

It's a nice car except I don't like halogens and sensatec. Also no heated seats. The mileage is low. Looks clean and an LCI. Worth checking out.

Shame it only has the base-level audio system

Mine only has a Business HU too but that's a relatively cheap issue to remedy. TBH even with PHU I would want to upgrade the entire ICE at some stage.

Sensatec .... of course thanks for pointing that out coz I thought the 'leather' didn't look quite leather. That's a definite downside I know plenty of people say it doesn't matter you can't tell the difference but vinyl is sweaty vinyl at the end of the day and that's detracting from the value imo. Be looking very carefully at any future ads.

Excuse me if this has already been flagged...perhaps it belongs to a forum member. Anyway, it might be possible to build a nice, very cheap 130i from this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-130i-spar ... SwZQRYZt4y
2010 E82 N55 135i, Forge ic, charge pipe, AFE induction kit, JB4
Avon non-rf, M3 LCAs & ARBs, Whiteline bush inserts, Brembo Sport pads
CDV delete, Storm Motorwerks knob
