Highlight of Topic Heading

Post by Boots » Thu Jul 20, 2017 1:10 pm

Hi Admin,

I note that the forum does not have a highlighting feature i/e when a thread/topic heading is touched to go to the subject matter it doesn't Chang to show that it has been touched. :?:

On other forums I use the 'highlighting' happens and makes for a better user experience.

Any chance of this happening?

Cheers

I don't understand, can you give an example of a site that does this?

Morning,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The following sites have topic headings that change when touched.

Forum.bmw5.co.uk

Uk Saabs.

However it may just be my iPad setting or something similar that is causing it not to happen on my viewing.

Thanks for taking the time to run the site I find it helpful as I run a e60 520d and my wife a 1 series 2i. Sorry not yet got the actual series number sorted.

Cheers

Works fine for me.

Red icon = unread posts.
Blue icon = touched.
Icon + Asterix = commented on.

I think he means the anchor visited state that is applied by most browsers. You could target that state `.topictitle:vistied { color: lightblue}`, which would mean non logged in users would be able to see which posts they have viewed.

The URL if unread posts/sections doesn't change and isn't part of the current forum software.
Unless there is an extension that would do it, it won't be added. I don't seem to see any ones out there.

As Marco has shown, the icon against each post changes depending on if you have read it or not.
