Duplicate posts

Post by .Griff. » Mon Sep 11, 2017 6:13 pm

I can't be the only one that's noticed an increase in duplicate posts of late.

I don't know if the respective users are using Tapatalk and the issues lies with that or they're impatient and smashing the post button.

Either way it seems to be happening more and more often.

Just an FYI.

I'm sure this is the third time I've read this post......

I suspect it's 'Submit Smashers'.

My posts never duplicate, but there does seem to be up to 15 seconds latency at times.

There's a massive delay in the time it takes to post recently.
Used to be more or less instant - no it's like being on dial-up after clicking "submit"

My posts usually hang for ages before actually going up.

I've double posted a few times due to this. Often my ability to delete posts doesn't work either. It's sometimes there, but not others.

The last few posts I have made have been on the iPhone in Safari and not via Tapatalk.
Posts have only take a second or so to post.

Personally I would stay away from Tapatalk.

Should have mentioned, please use the Report Post button on any duplicate post.
That way we are made aware if it and do a tidy up.

I don't use Tapatalk but still have the posting delay. Only happens when first posting, if you edit and re submit it's fine again.

E.g. When I click submit now I will have to wait for 5-10 seconds til it loads, but if I then edit this post it will submit straight away.

I optimised the database and rebooted the server.
Will see if that gets rid of any gremlins.......

I'm still getting a 14 second post time, but edits are instant?

will put a message out to my host to see if they can see anything, it will be something at their end.
Hopefully temporary.
