She's already got a no fault claim from a couple of years ago when some one reversed into her. Now another one dread to think what the insurance will be come renewal

The third party's insurance rang me yesterday saying she's accepted liability and their fixing the car. Do I have to still tell my insurance even though they've contacted me direct and do i have to declare it come renewal as technically I'm not making a claim?

You don't need to declare until the next renewal
(if you have to at all) you need to check the definition of your insurers claim declaration, some will say have you been involved in an incident in the past 3/5 years in which case you'd have to declare. If it says have you made a claim in the past 3/5 years then you don't have to declare it, run through a new quote with your current insurers to check it and go from there :)

It was my misses driving. She stopped at a zebra crossing would of thought it was straight. She's taking it to bmw now and I've told her to get them to have a look behind the wheel

Not doubting or questioning the veracity of your circumstances Slacky, but I'm slightly confused how someone 'reversed' into the nearside of your car when it was stationary at a zebra crossing. Did they come out of a side road or a driveway perhaps, or were they reversing having driven onto the zebra crossing maybe?

Just seems peculiar to me.

Despite that, I hope you get it repaired at a slightly cheaper cost than the quote BMW have given you.

New BMWs are expensive fixes at BMW bodyshops. A few years ago an F30 slid into a kerb on ice at around 15MPH, 2 new alloys, 2 new tyres, new steering rack, new full left side suspension, full KDS alignment and £5k later, all sorted.

She was in a Tesco car park came to the zebra crossing and stopped to let a woman cross. Then the car reversed out of a space into the car

Personally I would of thought she would of seen the car coming towards her but claims she didn't

Got the car back yesterday all fixed via sythner at a cost of 1.5k

Thanks for the explanation bud ..... only sorry to hear of the cost of the repairs, but no doubt you're pleased to have it back now?

Quick one

It's my policy which the misses is a named driver on. Who declares the no fault claim her or me?

Eh? It's already declared, surely? Or did you pay the £1.5k cash?

No the third party's insurance contacted me direct and sorted it. I ment renewal time when looking for quotes and putting in the details who's name will the non fault claim be under?

You should have declared it already really. At renewal it will be her with a NAF against her, as she was driving when the cars collided.
