M340i
Thinking of changing my current M235i in the New Year.
Weighing up a few options either M240i, 340i M Sport or even hanging on for the G20 M340i.
Anybody have any idea when we're likely to see the M340i and how long after release we'd start seeing decent discounts / PCP deals?
If we're talking late 2018 early 2019 it might discount it from the shortlist.

Re: M340i
Some people say the new G20 3 series including the M340i will be available on the new reg from March 2018 but I suspect that is too early and will be at least the Summer if not the new reg from September 2018.
I would imagine the new M340i will be a very nice car indeed!

Re: M340i
Thanks guys, I guess we'll now more after next months motor show.
I'm really excited about the M340i, I think I'll be a great upgrade and a natural step up from the M235i / M240i's.
I've got a 1 year old so could use the extra space & doors. Word is it'll be circa 370bhp to compete with the likes of the S4 and C45 AMG's so that mixed with a more refined and composed drive should make for a great all round package.
The only thing that worries me are the PCP monthlies compared to the M235i. Prob looking more like the £500pm figure compared to the average £400 for our 2ers?

Re: M340i
WRT your pricing comment, yes and more probably £550 a month. I bought an F30 in year 1 and discounts were very scarce at the time. That and with the 3 series comes a massive options list.Manc M135i wrote:Thanks guys, I guess we'll now more after next months motor show.

Re: M340i
Have they said they will ever bring the M340i to the UK? You can't buy an M550i

You don't fancy the current 340i Shadow Edition? There appear to be good discounts to be had at the moment

Re: M340i
I guess it could be 18 -24 months until the M340i has been out long enough to get a decent discount, 340i M Sport could fill a gap if there's deals out there.
Re: M340i
I haven't driven one yet so can only comment based on reviews as I need a test drive also however it has the B58 engine so more power and torque than the 235i and reviews also mention a more composed ride as you would expect from a larger car. The Shadow Edition comes with a few extras as standard, you can add the digital cockpit so a nice place to be. Coast2coast are quoting over £8k discount off a lightly spec'd car so worth a look but you would need to drive one to be sureManc M135i wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:18 pmNot really looked tbh Gary, how does the 340i M Sport stack up against the m235i in the handling & permance dept?
Might arrange a test drive!

Re: M340i
The B58 is detuned in the 340i compared to the m-lites. I believe it's 320bhp standard. Mppsk takes it up to 360bhp.Gary_LB wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:27 pmI haven't driven one yet so can only comment based on reviews as I need a test drive also however it has the B58 engine so more power and torque than the 235i and reviews also mention a more composed ride as you would expect from a larger car. Re: M340i
Its interesting what you say about the MPPSK pack.
I wondered what boosted the X3's M40i engine to 360 hp and the blurb does mention a sports exhaust so its probably just that and being "chipped"? It seemed odd to me that the torque figure of 500 Nm didn't change when the hp did if there was a significant engine change.
I was thinking about a new 3 series but my dealer seemed to think we wouldn't see it to 2019 and he thought the new 1 series would be first *shrug*.
From what I remember reading a while back a BMW guy said every new series will get an M lite of some description so an M340i is extremely likely especially with AMG and S badges doing so well.

Re: M340i
They could wack an M badge in front of the current 340/440 as the M on the 140/240 is just there for Marketing there isn't much difference compared to a normal M sport carManc M135i wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:18 pmNot really looked tbh Gary, how does the 340i M Sport stack up against the m235i in the handling & permance dept?

So the only differences are 6hp which is what jusifies the M and a slight modification that allows a tiny bit of extra camber.
So the new G series car won't be my different in spec compared to the rest of the range as the current 3/440 cars

Re: M340i
F30 production stops October 2018 so G20 will come after that I would imagine. If you want to be one of the first for an M340i then I imagine you will be paying full list price. Brilliant deals around for F30 340i M Sport at the moment. Add the MPPSK to bring it up to par. M340i engine will probably be very similar. Incoming X3 M40i engine has 360hp also.
