Hyundai i30N

Post by danscfc » Mon Oct 09, 2017 11:43 am

Hi Guys,

Anybody seen these? Gone under my radar until now.

Tried desperately to get insured on a M140i, being 21, no avail.

Had fully spec'd a 125i shadow edition, cleared by my insurance, very nearly ordered, still in contention, but just doesn't have that special factor for me.

The i130N looks great and sounds immense, seems to be getting rave reviews too...

My chances of insurance I'd imagine would be much higher.

This is on my radar as a possible next car as bmw and focus rs are getting nicked by the bucket loads round by me this seems to offer 95% of the thrills and not high on a car thiefs list

I find BMWs easy to insure. It would surprise me if the i30N was much less.

It's a good looking car and reviews are good. At £28k for the quicker one it's not a cheap car. Depreciation might be a little steep on these as the badge will put lots off.

Is it maybe worth holding off until you're 22? There's some cliff edge drops in insurance quotes based entirely on your date of birth I found. If I remember right I think mine dropped almost £300 the year I turned 25.

Ah okay, didn't know that. 22 in April, GTI due to go back in March so may be worth extending by a month.

Could try changing the date of birth on one of your quotes to see if the savings going to make it worth holding off.

I hit 25 a few months back and it didn't make a bit of difference to insurance. My policy on the 140 was taken out when 24, when I get new quotes now as im 25, its nearly doubled. It's definitely worth checking.

The Hyundai on a PCP will be expensive because of the high list price and probably very steep depreciation.
Look at the Kia Pro cee'd GT - £24,000 OTR and a GFV of around £8k after 3 years, with a deposit of £1k the monthly payments are over £400. False economy.

2017 BMW M140i Alpine White, Coral leather - 5 door, sports automatic, driver comfort pack, front & rear PDC, sun protection pack, heated front seats - gone!

Test drove this in the snow on Friday night - I absolutely loved it. If the dealers can give the right figures, this might definitely be my next move.

Give us a bit more info. I'm looking at these closely too. Hopefully get a test drive later this week.

Sorry Dan, I've only just seen this.
I put the thread on the test drive on the i30N forum - presuming you are the same 'DanCam' then no need to expand for you. :P
