Very nice, I bet it sounds like a petard has gone off on the over run and pedestrians quicken their step! :)

Congrats Rob, sounds like it was well worth the trip. I know you didn't want the chavvy sound, and I think you got the right one without the Akra money! sounds great!

Well done on the road trip first of all! That's proper dedication to your car modding :)

It sounds great now! I've no idea who would spec a car like that without sports exhaust when new!
It was just too quiet :(

The weekends are gonna be even more fun now 8)

Sounds awesome fella!! Bet you've cured that "lack of drama feel" from the romp. Great effort!

Thanks guys and girls. It's made the car feel "new" again and I'm looking forward to driving it again. Shame winter is coming

Haha thanks Peter. It was really nice to meet you and your missus too (sorry I forgot her name already!)

Pleasure taking you out in it and even more so if it means you eventually get one. Shame it was damp otherwise I'd have pressed on a bit more to show you what it's really capable of ;-)

Thanks for the pic too. It's looking quite clean there, as opposed to this pic, which was taken about an hour later Image

After three months of searching, almost 30 cars physically viewed, approx 15 test driven and several threads on both this forum and others, the steed has a new stable mate.

For some reason my phone won't upload pictures at the minute so I'll do it using the laptop later today.

All will be revealed shortly.... Watch this space :spotman:

I'll let the pictures do the talking but let's just say it's more powerful than the 911. Only had it 2 days but it's blown me away...

JapanRed's new Steed (+new stable mate)

Post by Japanred120d » Mon Jun 26, 2017 12:14 pm

So after test driving loads of cars including M3, M4, M6, RS5, RS6, A45 AMG, Mustang plus more, I finally settled for an M4.

Several weeks of searching on autotrader and trying to firm up an ever increasing budget, and we received the fantastic news that my wife is pregnant with our first baby ️. Great news all round except for the car, so I promptly changed the search to an M3 (helped in no small part by Twenny, Penetrator, ProduceThis and Browny). Two more months and many viewings later, I spotted a rare beauty on Wednesday last week. I knew it was the car for me and immediately made an offer over the phone and collected on Saturday. The private seller couldn't have been more accommodating, picking us up from the train station in Glasgow and taking us to his house.

The car is a rare, individual colour Grigio Telesto F80 M3. Well specced with the £11,000 worth of optional extras including;
DCT gearbox with Drivelogic
Individual paint
Full merino leather
Head up display
Harmen Kardon
Full MP carbon kit
Carbon interior trim
Adaptive headlights
Black 437M alloys
Reverse camera
5 year service pack
Sun protection glass
Rear sun blinds
Plus a few other non descrip bits.

Anyway, it's really hard to capture the colour as it varies a lot in different lighting.

First impressions, 425bhp through the rear wheels is a dream. The sound is unbelievable; knocks the 911 for six and that's with the modified exhaust on the Porsche.

Will do a full comparison of both cars in the coming weeks but until then, here's some car porn.

I saw this colour on a 440i in the showroom last week, couldn't take my eyes of it.

That's quite a stable you've got there congrats.
