VIN Decoders

Ever wondered what options your car was originally spec'd with? Here's a list of websites that can decode your cars factory options from the VIN. These should work with old BMWs, and cars yet to be built alike.

These sites are nothing to do with BabyBMW and aren't endorsed by us, use them as you please, and at your own risk. If any of them don't seem to be working (or have implemented a signup/paywall) simply try another.

Nice to see. Mine says it has Brake Energy Regeneration. Is this standard or is it an expensive extra. I mentioned it to my dad and he said, 'no it doesn't it would have cost thousands'. Any ideas?

Brake Energy Regeneration as defined by BMW... Make use of every watt: by charging the battery only when your BMW is braking, coasting or decelerating, Brake Energy Regeneration improves fuel efficiency by up to three percent and ensures that the full power of your engine is available for acceleration. So it's nothing like KERs, just when it charges the battery.

Anyone know where I can find the VIN or spec of this 2016 F31 340i.

Reg. RF16 LPA

Vehicle is at BCA so no means to obtain the VIN.

All websites I've used in the past seem to have removed the VIN details.

Thanks.

If you have bimmercode the info will be there too. Top right hand you see a car icon, press that.

I've always found this to be a good, free VIN Decoder too:

This sadly has stopped working for me lately

You have reached a daily limit for using decoder service.
Paid access will be implemented in few days.
Even with changing my IP address, it still doesn't work. None of the alternatives suggested above work either. Anyone with a working VIN decoder?
