Samsung Phone - Bluetooth in E87

Post by barneyrubble » Mon Apr 17, 2017 11:29 pm

So i've had iphones for years and they've worked first time each time on my e87

I've just swapped over to the dark side and am now an android user.........

My Samsung galaxy Edge S7 will pair - then disappears from the system completely.

Anyone actually managed to pair an S7 edge with an e87??

I've had an S6 paired with my e81 for the last two years and in that time it has dropped twice; most of the time it is fine. No idea why it was forgotten by the car. I don't use it that often so maybe it's time related?
Have you made sure that the car bluetooth system is clear of all other phones in it's memory? I'm guessing we are running the same operating system on our Samsung's, so shouldnt be that.
:? :? :?

I've tried pretty much everything I can.

Pone works fine on wife's mini but not the e87

iphone connects first time. There's one final thing i can do which is to clear the bluetooth cache....

I had a Note 3 for the past three years, which worked fine. Just switched to an S8+ and it won't pair. Car and phone see each other, passcode entered, all fine, car says it paired, phone thinks it's not.

Tried everything. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks.

My S6 would not pair with my E46 at all because the bluetooth technology in the phone had surpassed that of the tech that was around at the time that the E46 was designed, could something similar be happening now with newer phones and the E8* cars?
Current - E82 135i '08 Le Mans Blue - Clubsport gearknob, CDV delete, Whiteline inserts

Stumbled across this attempting to view your 130i off the back of a comment you made on a thread 3 years ago...

But I know the answer to this!

Android Update 4.2/4.3/4.4 (can't remember which) changed a few settings at OS level which didn't play nice with the BMW Bluetooth. There's a long thread about it on XDA-Developers with a fix but it'll require you to root and regedit (which is not for the faint hearted if you're not a techie!)
