You can't really hear the rear speakers unless you sit in the back seats, I'd spend the dollar on the front speakers instead.

What car are you driving, is it a 3 door or 5 door? :? Do you have any tweeters currently?

It’s the standard 5 door. Having just changed too the professional HU the sound campared too the old buisness unit is huge. Mainly from the side door speakers. There are tweeter installed however if I’m honest they don’t appear too offer much too end , that’s if there doing anything at all and not there just fir cosmetic display.

99% of 5 doors just have empty grills, no tweeters at all. Are they definitely fitted?

If you put your ear up to them they should be very obvious?

For the price and kit inclusion I’d recommend the following who also do a matching set of rear speakers.

Matched with a pro head unit the sound is great. I’ve tested Focal, Rainbow and others and these have the warmest breadth of sound - when set up correctly.

For the price point of around £300 complete they can’t be beaten

Don't bother with the rears.

Upgrade the front 3 ways and amp them and you'll be happy.

Important to note that the frequency to the subs is full range therefore if you amp them include a crossover

If you're upgrading the front 3 ways to aftermarket, it will come with a crossover as part of the kit.

Not always... I bought some Focals expecting exactly that but had to buy the crossover separately

I've never seen a component 3 way kit or any component kit come without crossovers. Be it built in to the mid/tweeter or a separate box and I've been in audio for 10+ years. Some component kits come with just the crossover portion soldered to the speaker/tweeter.

What kit was it? The model number?

Talking cross purposes - the signal to the subs are full range and don’t have a cross over to reduce the frequency normally unless a 3 way crossover or amp with a sub filter is installed.

Focal have started installing the crossover in line with the supplied cable but previously these and some other brands relied on a separate unit. Some still do and if supplied price hikes as I’m sure you know.

Mid usually would have the built in crossover OR the separate box as stated.

It depends on the brand and price, 99.9% of the time there will be crossover built in or supplied on 3 way kits but only for the mid/tweet as stated earlier. That 0.1% is probably the proper shitty brands that nobody has heard off, they may not come with the crossover at all but I'm pretty sure all component kits would for the mid/tweet.

If you were talking about subs, then no, no crossover.
