Very nice welcome to the forum

Nice to see an alt colour re: brake calipers.

Do yourself a favour though and junk what appear to be metal dust caps. They will at some stage seize (compound reaction) which will result in new TPMS. Good old plastic ones are your best bet.

Well documented on here if you wanna check it out via search.

Looks nice fellah.

Looks like you have a few MP goodies on the car too, I spy the brakes and side blades.

Are those the M-Performance brakes? The standard ones aren't drilled, plus they look bigger.

Another plus one for getting rid of those metal dust caps, ...apart from the fact it will just attract some kids to nick them from you as stated above they can seize on to the threads of the valves.

I got lucky on my car as one of them was almost completely welded on but I managed to get it off just in time. Got some plastic ones now which I got from eBay for 99p (x8) and tbh it still looks good enough with them on.
Nice car boost monster. ;)

Yes I believe they are M performance brakes, I think the red calipers look good.
I put some anti seize grease on the dust caps until I get plastic ones.

Re: My 135 one month on

Post by boost monster » Wed May 09, 2018 9:52 am

Well that’s one month in and so far I’ve fitted wheel spacers 12 r 10 f and m performance black grills. I’m doing my home work on lowering springs which is turning out to be a mine field with different retailers quoting different drops for the same part no. Eibach looks favourites at the moment,I think I’ve read every thread on here about them. I’m only looking for a subtle drop nothing slammed!
Additional security is also coming.
I’ve also done away with the remote on the Steinbauer power box thing so I have enhanced power at all times.
Fuel consumption had been interesting coming from a 520d can’t get used to the range after a fill up but the performance is what I bought for and I can’t fault it. I’m still very much still straight line stuff at the moment.
I remember now why I removed the run flats from my last car. The ride is hideous with them.
So loving every moment 👍 so much so that my summer Escort RST is in an extended hibernation.

As for lowering springs Motech Eibach seem a good option. The standard Eibach hardly reduce the ride height at the rear around 10-15mm which is pointless Imo.
I will go for H+R as they drop around 25-30mm which is ideal.
What's the Steinbaur box ?

Thanks for the information on the standard Eibach I never new the difference between them and the Motech. Here’s the go faster box. I’d never heard of them but think Steinbauer make them for Harge and AC Schnitzer.
