Coilovers

Post by essexgirlracer » Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:06 pm

Question!! has anyone had any issues with coilovers on there onesie?? had mine 2.5 years and in that time ive had ongoing issues with the bracket that mounts to the coilover body where the link arm attaches snapping off..... I have tries serveral link arms including adjustables and e30 m3 ones as they are the same fitment as onesie but just alot shorter and still the same.... last for about 3...4 months and bam the bracket snaps..... kinda at my whits end now as dont know what else to try...... and dont really want it back on standard set up..... any thoughts?

Gaz are pretty well made usually so seems odd they would break off there, are you running crazy low or something ?....generally stock ARB links are fine at sensible ride heights.

Are you on stock Antiroll bars ? that's only thing I can think that would extra stress these lugs but even so should be able to handle upgraded bars, do you drive or park on steep ramp angles a lot ? I had an ARB snap once on my old Evo when going diagonally across a steep ramp down into garage forecourt but it was an old bar which didn't help.

It looks to me like the lug on coilovers are not strong enough or welding not upto scratch, have you a picture of the coilover where it snapped off as well ? also what did Gaz say when you contacted them ?

I'd get in touch with Gaz about that as they should be able to take the strain of any ARB and drop links especially with the height at which you are. I've never had that snap on any coilover/shock I've run and I've run my cars at the Ring, Spa, Silverstone, etc and daily on our roads with no issues and all my cars have been lowered.

Gaz are usually pretty good! I'd get in touch with them like Raj said. Never known that to happen
