Yea... You have to hold it down don't you?

I never understood why my boot is such a pain in the arse. then when I get out the car after stopping, removing key and walking to the boot... I can never open it by the handle either, I have to press unlock on the key again then try the handle or hold the boot button on the key.

Little twatting annoyances from a well built car.

I get that too. I think it was over engineered to stop people being ale break into your boot when parked or in traffic.

It took me months to figure out you can open the boot while the engine is running (click unlock button on dashboard again, or double click if car is open) weird lol

Looks great and helpful when hands are full!! How easy is it to shut? As I have to slam mine down as it is and sometimes still get warning that boot is open. Got a 12 plate 116ED. Used to have a Ford that closed automatically so not used to slamming boot down and as only had new car for a month still approaching closing boot too gingerly. :-)
Thanks

After i did the boot spring mod, i have removed them as it was putting presser on my rear light clusters & every time i slammed the boot shut the glass would slammed on to the lights & have now cracked them, after i removed the springs the glass doesnt touch.

so no more easy access to the boot :( it came in very handy.

sonicvanman - same as me.

I thought this was the greatest mod until then. Removed the springs and all is still not well - the arm slides off every so often.

What exactly is the point In the bottom button on the remote anyway because it only releases the latch you still have to lift it by the handle. After finding this mod out its and excellent feature but obviously BMW never intended this mod to be done on the first place...

How many people have had long term problems with this mod. And who hasn't had any. I really want to do this but don't want any long term damage doing
