What would the procedure be? Ive got an M140 on order but I havent specced CC. Ive looked into coding a small amount but I have no real idea on how to go about it.

It requires new cruise control steering wheel controls & coding.

How much would the coding be remotely be from you? Roughly how much for the wheel controls?

I think the controls are around £180 from Cotswolds. Coding is £70.

I managed to retrofit cruisecontrol and MSFW in my '05 118d today :D I took a test drive and it works perfectly. I have the DSC/DTC and the brake light on in my dash. In the guide it says to use DIS to recalibrate the steering angle sensor, but I've read that it's easier to do it like this:

"launch tool32
choose load SGBD
select dtc module ( DSC_87.PRG)
then find: lenkwinkel dsc abgleichen
double click this and it will take around 3 seconds to complete
job done :D"

My problem is after step 3. The program doesn't come up with any results and seems to be "waiting/thinking". I know that INPA is communicating with the car, so my connection between laptop and car should be OK. Does the program get this file from the car or where does it come from? Maybe one of you guys know what's up

Did you code the car for the cruise option on all required modules ?

I followed Rob The Vikings guide and "processed the car" in the end. Which modules are supposed to be coded besides from what's done in the guide?
I put in the code $540 and $249 which both are working now.

OK if you followed the guide it should be ok on that front as long as you followed all steps, i found that it was a bit vague on final steps and you dont need to do every module (CAS, FRM and Kombi from memory) but Wibbles set me straight on that so all that is left is to calibrate the steering in tool32, not sure why your having problems with that though, have you tried again after powering everything off and back on and reconnecting laptop etc ? on mine it took about a couple of seconds to do this final step.

It's only DSC & KOMBI. Then run the Tool32 job

Thank you guys. I appreciate your answers
Wibbles wrote:It's only DSC & KOMBI. Then run the Tool32 job
I just gave the last part of the guide another try. I have the German version. I come to the point where I see the parts to get coded. DSC and KOMBI are both there so that should be fine. When I'm processing the car afterwards it does the "christmas tree". BUT it stops and says that the coding failed showing a small window which says:

"Fehler in CABD! Siehe CABI.ERR und ERROR.LOG!
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht IFH-0009: SG nicht angeschlossen oder meldet sich nicht FRM-87
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht SG_codieren"

My German isn't good, but as I understand it:

There's a fail in CABD (wonder what that is). Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG!
COAPI-2020: ECU doesn't answer IFH-0009: ECU isn't associated or doesn't "answer" FRM-87
COAPI-2020: ECU doesn't answer ECU-coding

So what does this mean?

OK, I can definitively say you can not use a non-MSFW on an MSFW car by just swapping out the clock spring.

On non-MSFW controls it is not just missing the guts on the clock spring itself, but also on the stalks section.
It will never work.

I know it has been bandied about earlier, but there was some debate back and forth about swapping the clock spring.

I bought a cruise control set from another member on here and he said he had it in his car with MSFW after swapping the clock spring. Not sure how that could be the case, but not trying to cast doubt or anything on him either.

OK, so that leaves me with a set of controls for an E87 with rear wipers, non-auto wipers, non-MSFW that are surplus and a need for a set for an E87 with rear wipers, non-auto wipers, MSFW. I don't suppose anyone needs to do a swap do they after buying the wrong set?

May have to sell this set and buy the correct set.

So far added Parrot and Connects2 and swapped the badges for black...
No M badges though :)
Lots more coming... Gimme a chance, only just got it.
