I only recommended those cableshack cables as I know they work and Jimmy give great customer service.

Been doing this retro fit today on my 135i, got stalk unit and cowl swapped over no problems but have run into issues coding, i think its my ancient laptop causing unstable connection, i was able to add option $540 to cas and write it but had issues with frm part although did get it to do it in the end, however was not happy laptop/cable was stable enough to start doing other modules and dont want to brick anything so called it a day! , job for wibbles now i think to finish it off :)

Suprisingly the cruise does work fine even not fully coded, just i have the warning lights on for dsc etc to sort.

Got my coding finished off today and now cruise and everything else is working tiptop with no errors, big thanks to Wibbles for the fine tuning tips :D

For those thinking of doing it the diy was helpful but there are some tweaks/improvements to streamline things a bit more, most of it is in this thread somewhere so read it right through, things like only coding relevant modules (DSC and Kombi) not whole car after you have added correct option to the VO, also using tool32 for steering wheel calibration is much easier than DIS which I couldn't get going.

Have you coded the CC option to DSC and Kombi ? as well as reset steering angle sensor, if not then that is why you have errors on dashboard.

Hi mate, thanks for the response.
No we haven't because for some reason it won't let us code it. We are using NCS to code but also have DCAN, but sounds like the same issues you were having!

I was having communications issue with cable/software which turned our was down to the USB port settings within windows (thanks Wibbles for helping with that :) ) , is this problem you have when trying to code or read modules ?

We can actually communicate, but the DSC lights are left on. We can't seem to get rid of the traction control lights.
