I've just bought these Heated seats & electric moving and need them fitted into my 1 Series coupe (E82) 120d

I've already bought the climate control unit with the heated seat buttons.

What else is needed for the retro install ?

Thanks for the reply.

Where do I get the wires from ?
You'd need to have a look on realoem to see if BMW do a retrofit kit on the wires, or, just get some cable and do it yourself.

I had a chat with a good Indy and he quoted about £300 to do them, including coding. I was undecided whether to do it.

How much we're the seats if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking out for some but never come across any.
Pm me if you don't want it to be public :)

No wires needed between the climate control buttons and the seats.

You do however need wires running from the fuse box to the seats.

If you want the proper OEM wiring then you have to buy the heated seat retrofit kit from BMW (approx £150) part no. 61 11 0 434 339

So is it the case of buying this retrofit kit and hooking it up to the fuse box and just code ?

Found the part number for the 4 retrofit cables only (61 12 0 398 203) approx. £75

Yes, run one cable from fuse box to passenger seat and the other cable from fuse box to drivers seat.

PDF of heated seat official instruction from BMW can be found on this page.

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a 2006 installation instruction so the fuse numbers are different now.

Heavy red cables go to fuses 45 & 46 and smaller green cable goes to fuse 10.

Then I had BMW code the retrofit to my car.

How much did this cost all in all, with the seats included? I'm thinking about doing it myself.
I see you're from Yorkshire. Give BMW Stratstone Leeds a call. They have a retrofit guy that comes and does all their work. Might be a bit costly getting it done this way but you get 2 years warranty on the seats and any problems with it they can sort it out.

On my F20, the heating elements are separate from the seat itself so they can be easily added, its just the wiring afterwards that could be a bit of a pain. Not sure if this applies to E series seats though, but if it does, it could save you having to buy some new seats. The cheaper option of the retrofit also means that the heating is controlled by a control panel clipped onto the seat rather than from the climate console.
