Just plugged mine in that I got from eBay for £43 delivered, it worked!! It's from a 2010 e93 sadly no part number, some wally pulled the sticker off.
All buttons work :-)

My local BMW dealership have taken 4 weeks to get the trim cover 9181072. Apparently Germany's stock bins were all muddled up... :?

I was waiting since Feb! They have some sort of problem with the supplier according to Bmminiparts

I'm replacing my cover that fits around the standard i drive controller & have tried to prise/unclip it using a credit card but it will not budge!! - Are you sure its not screwed down?

No screws, just clipped around. I just pulled mine up with my fingers, I did take the gear surround out before though.

No screws at all just a nice tight fit prize it up with something stronger than a credit card

I've got it out....yippeee but the i drive unit is attached - sorry to sound dim but how am i meant to get that off to release the plastic surround?
