Good day to everyone. Ive been very busy and have not been able to visit this forum for quite awhile and when I tried I can't login using my original login details. I had to register using another username. Anyway, I noticed that some of the picture I attached in the original post have expired and lost. I can't find the damn photos but luckily I had the original write up in word and converted them in pdf format but I cant upload them :(.

I just retrofitted rear reverse camera on my F20 116i. It took about three months to source the parts in Ebay and FCPEuro.com. The parts are :
1. Control Module - 66 53 9 302 256 from ebay.co.uk (Euro $250.00)
2. Camera - 66 53 9 240 351 from ebay.co.uk (Euro $50.00)
3. Connecting line reversing camera - 61 12 9 282 360 from FCPEuro (Euro $54.00)
4. Retrofit Cable – from ebay.de (Euro$60.00) – not worth the money I paid. Better to buy the F10 Rear Camera rettofit 66 212 181 317.

This is item 1 and 2 (Control Unit and the Camera Note camera attached to the handle for f30 car for f20 this is not needed only the camera is needed.)

Item 3 – Camera cable

Item 4 – retrofit cable

Total Euro$414.00 plus Euro$80.00 total for postage and delivery to Australia.
If I waited patiently in ebay I could have gotten them a lot cheaper. So those that can wait you may be getting the parts way less than what I got them for.

The biggest challenge for me is how to I install the camera. I have to cut through the rear plastic bumper. This gave me cold sweat just before I started. I checked ista/d on how to remove the camera and it appears that the camera is just a tight fit in the hole just above the number plate.
I measured the part that will go into the hole and made a sketch on a sticker. My plan is to stick the sticker with the hole clearly drawn and cut the hole without going over the edge marking. I first drilled inside and used flat files to trim the hole. The camera is snug tight with in the hole. I had to push the camera hard to fit it in.

The next was to route the cable to the camera. On the left-hand side behind the rear lights there is a hole with a rubber stopper. I took off the rubber and feed out the camera cable. Refer to the next couple of photos.

Once this is done, installation of the retrofit cable is the same as the F10 installation or the F30 installation to the back of the NBT unit. You can get info in this from
The only different is the KBus lines the green and orange/green wires to connect to the A173*8B of the FEM. I managed to install them to the FEM at the left hand front passenger foot well.
Pin 1 to ground (-)
Pin 2 to pin 21 of my HUNBT (composite +)
Pin 3 to pin 24 of my HUNBT (composite -)
Pin 4 to pin 23 of my HUNBT
Pin 5 to Pin 52 of FEM (KcanH) unit. Connector A173 * 8b
Pin 6 to Pin 51 of FEM (KCanL) unit. Connector A173 * 8b
Pin 7 to Pin 6 of the rear holder. (+). Connector Z2 * 6b

Once installed I added 3AG to VO and reboot the NBT by pressing the volume knob for 20 seconds and once rebooted I got the rear camera working.

The gray piece is a plug that slots into the JBE in the trunk.
F21 M135i - AW CR - lots of options.

Exactly, but I find no reference or f21 do not need to buy?

I also need to know what type of cable or to buy this photo cable, video cable for camera control unit, I am building wiring and I only need this cable.

The grey plug is for the 12v power from the JBE fuse box - I suppose you could take the power from anywhere with an in line fuse. I don't know the part number, sorry.

Personally I would just buy the retrofit loom from Emtronika, it will save you a lot of hassle.

as it is called to go buy it now?

Another question I have, the installation of all wiring is done on the right side of the car or on the left side of the car?
